Made a commander with the right weapons for the tournament today and rebuilt a marbo model. Here are some quick snaps. Ow the brown line on his sword has been fixed.

Sorry the picture is a bit crapy

I like the demo pack. I might have to make one of those with all of my left-over grenades and meltabombs that come with EVERYTHING gw makes.

Dude Im loving those Bombards and your infantry look great. Have you considered a battery of the Krieg heavy mortars? Your army seems pretty mobile so Im not sure how well they would match unless they are deployed behind your fortress.

I also really like the white on the penguin, the layers look very distinct. And the light effects on the eyes, masterful. That thing makes me laugh.

Yes I thought that demo charge was the best use for those bombs

The white on Waddles did come out very well Also I am glad you like the bombards and my other work.

I have made another order from forgeworld so I will have a vulture gunship this week to start doing.

The first tournament with the fort was a bit hit and miss. This army looks really cool with the guns behind the fort and the gunships coming to help a bunker under siege but its very hard to do anything with. Not really fussed about that though as I think once I get the hang of it it will be really hard to beat.

Done a quick bit of work on the destroyer tonight. I have set up magnets to attach missiles from the plastic gunship kit instead of paying a days wages for 8 missiles I think they are looking good?

I magnetized them so once they are fired you can remove them as they are one shot weapons.

Vulture turned up yesterday so I have been building it today. Take a look.

Nice model bit of work left to do with the green stuff working.

His name is Waddles lol.

I have started painting the destroyer as I did not get a chance to finish spraying the Vulture after work.

Here are the quick wip shots.

I am going to paint a section at a time. I will do the metal work on this wing tomorrow.

Hope you like it. PS I love the new Tau so expect some allies soon.

Quick update today.

I have not managed to get the wing finished but I have started the engines. Have not really been in a painting mood today :(

I am starting to get some idea of what this thing will look like when its finished. Always worried about something this size not looking how I want it to but I think it will be nice.

Nearly finished a wing.

Will try and get it done tomorrow and start the nose.

Gone very quiet in here again. Not liking the destroyer? I will start something else tomorrow to mix it up. Second bombard and the Vulture are now primed ready to paint.

Also I have started the nose of the destroyer.

I figured this section would be easier to paint the metal then do the white edging otherwise I would just of messed up the white when I did the metal and have to do it again anyway.

Well, I have been enjoying the progress but figured I would comment when this baby is finished. I plan to take a GW break after Im done with my current project. All your FW stuff is making me reconsider. That bomber is pure resin sweetness.

It is going to be a while before this things finished. I keep hoping between models atm but its a good way to stop myself from getting bored.

Done some more of the nose now.

Starting to make progress but only starting

Well I had another test game with the doubles army last night. We tabled an army that had 3 flying demon princes a bloodthirster and a helldrake as well as chaos terminators a pair of forge doggies and some ground troops. So good so far.

Started the Vulture now.

Hope you like it. I have pretty much matched the wings shade to the vendettas but this picture is not to great. Sorry I will take some more in a day or 2 when Ive painted more of it.

Lovely work, I have a question about the Vulture though: I have one of the older, all-resin Vultures, and I've noticed that the newer resin/plastic kit uses the Valkyrie wings, which only have 2 hardpoints total. How do the extra weapons fit on the kit if there are only 2 hardpoints?

You get extra mounts to stick onto flat sections of the underwing. There back of the fin is also slightly different there is a missing plate in the middle that your one has and my one has a bit at the back of the fin where it covers a slit which a valks back wing goes in.

Sorry I have been quiet this last week guys. Spent most of my time at work or airsofting so what free time I had was spent sleeping

Some decent progress with the second Vulture today though to show you.

So that is the engine done which is a big chunk of the gunship

I will add some burn to the punisher cannon when I have done the second one which will be some point next week

Also I have done the base grey drybrush on the second bombard so it is ready for its white drybrush now

Your painting is great as always. I have to ask, what is airsofting?

bb guns

Thanks mate.

BB guns is a bit of a short coming in terms of an explanation

Airsofting is similar to paintball. The big difference is that airsoft uses guns that fire BBs instead of paint balls. The weapons are for the most part replicas of real world weapons and fir about 3 times the distance of a paintball gun, around 55 meters for the decent assault weapon and up to 90ish for a sniper rifle.

It also differs in that you are not limited to short ranged skirmish. You can have anything up to full blow military simulation with trucks ect it has even been know for tanks to be used and helicopters in really really big games.

As for the weapons here is a shot of most of mine.

Note the M16 has a M203 grenade launcher and there is a 6 barrel rotary grenade launcher to. They fire around 100 BBs in a single shot.

On a warhammer front. I have not done any more painting yet. I will do some in the next couple of days. I have been a bit busy.

Hope you like the guns

Yes its a fun hobby

I have some progress today. Some more work one the second bombard and a lot more work on the vulture. Here are the pics.

Just been doing the bombards base colour as I wait for wash to dry on bits of the vulture.

As you can see I have had some real issues getting the highlights to be sharp on the vulture.

The resin front end is inferior to the plastic valk kit and therefore impossible for me to get the nice crisp white lines as the edges are curved :(

On the table it looks fine but a close up shows you that it is no where near as nicely finished as the vendettas are :(

I will do some more asap but I am airsofting all weekend again so not much time.

CC guys please.

Excellent as always. I was wondering, what color do you use for the metals? I am leaning towards Minotaurs for my next army and I can get a solid dark bronze color without washes. And I can't wash without leaving pools.

The metals are leadbelcher, wash with nuln oil then with agrax earthshade. It is really simple.

Done some more Vulture. Its not to far from finished now.

Thought I would do some more close ups of the guns as I have added some burn.

If I am a good boy this might get finished tomorrow but I wont hold my hopes up.

Just a minor suggestion, you've got the nice edge highlighting on the panel lines, the raised rivets on the engine cowling, and the big recessed wing bolts, but the recessed rivets on the wings could use the same treatment maybe?
