Yes I get bored when doing big models so jump between parts. I find it breaks it up nicely.

I just went through the whole thread for the first time in a while. Army looks great, you have really maintained the gray throughout. Flyers look really cool. They are gonna be striking on the tabletop.

Thanks man. There is some variation in tone from tank to tank but on the board you dont see it and it does not matter really.

Got some more work done on the gunships today. Nearly got them both to a state where they can be put in a game.

Also I have ordered 2 bombard to use as heavy mortars

Here are the wips.

Sorry about the poor quality these are just quick snaps in the living room which has gak lighting.

CC though guys

Not in the mood to paint gunships today so been doing some work on the fort. Here is a few quick wips.

This is how I am going to get the whole fort painted to start with. Very basic but it will get it on the table, Then at a later date I can do all its skulls lights ect and probably some weathering.

CC?

Thats the second time you have told me to read your signature. I am not going to repeat what I said last time.

Thanks though glad you like the heads but dont worry the attrition rate on my guardsmen units is massive. Little twits need to get stuck in to earn their rations in my army. Good result for any commander as it means hardly any come back for food.

Got a couple of bits of progress for you today.

Firstly some quick wips of the fort as it stands now. Yes they are not well lit yes they are not great quality no please dont point that out lol.

The main tower is a chore. Just getting it done to a basic standard to get on the table is taking a while and its drinking my wash lol

In other news another Vendetta is finished. Well apart from its base and the lightning but it will be a while before I add that to the wings.

Again just quick snaps I will do some better ones at a later date. Good progress though

CC as always or any other comments.

Thanks dude I will check it out.

Done some building today. Bombards arrived yesterday so I got stuck into building them. One is now built and had some undercoat but as I started building the second one I noticed it was missing its side armour. They sent to right hand sides and no left :/

Anyway here is some wips of the first one.

Now this has had a few little mods. Because the bombard was made before a collosus was crapped into the new codex out of nowhere just so in the future they can make a multi part artillery box it means that it does not have a hull gun and it used to have its own rules.
In the new imperial armour it has been renamed the collosus bombard and is now a collosus on a leman russ hull using the excuse that they are built on both hulls.
So I added a hull gun to it using a sponson flamer that I cut up and popped on a search light and some smoke launchers.
Will hope to get started on the painting tomorrow.

Also today I have done a load more greenstuff work to my destroyer. It is pretty much ready to paint now just needs some magnets under the wings to hold its missiles.

Might be having a big game tomorrow night will be taking this along with me.

CC as always

Right followers Got some progress pictures of the Bombard for you.

And since I took those pics I have done company stripes on one side.

I am liking its progress as when it was just being started it looked really bad. Think it will turn out ok though.

CC comments?

Hi guys. All very quiet on here loads of views but no comments. No one like Bombards?

More wips of it tonight it has its mud done now and is nearly complete apart from a company stripe on one side a few purple cables and other tiny bits.

But before that here are some quick snaps of a 3500 point game I had saturday night. They were taken on my phone so are not great but thought you might like them.

That is near the end of the game. My answer to chaos marines taking an objective.

That Prince killed my Baneblade :(

Anyway time for the bombard.

I hope you like it so far. I love it and will probably buy a third when I have painted the first 2.

Truffle you have a woeful lack on comments on here for the quality of work you produce! Let me try and fix that! Firstly I have to say I love your scheme, its simple but striking and doesn't take an a year to paint a figure which is more than i can say for my army! (the purple in particular is a fine choice, purple is a very unappreciated colour i feel!)

I love your bombards, very nice concept i have to say!

That destroyer is simply huge! i had no idea! (cant wait to see it painted up!

Keep the updates coming sir.

Great work on the guard! You have clearly spent quite a bit at Forge World. I have just acquired quite a few tanks off Ebay including three bombards myself, not built my vendettas yet.
The purple does go well with your scheme and you are cracking through the models at quite a pace. Keep up the good work!

Better to sit quietly and look the fool than to open your mouth and confirm the fact!

I second what these guys are saying. I think this is the first Bombard I have seen all painted up, it looks great. Never considered getting one, maybe I will. Also the blue and white markings are a nice touch.

I dunno, I'v only just seen this and those Bombards actually look very nice.

I quite like the purple searchlight as well, it makes a change to the "normal" blue / yellow version. Kind of almost looks like some kind of infra-red version.

Woot that was a change of pace thanks guys.

Yes the Destroyer is massive its a huge ball ache placing it on board even with a 18 inch high stand .

Im glad you like the bombard. The second ones side armour still has not arrived so cannot start painting it yet :(

I have been doing some work on my third vendetta gunship today trying to make it look semi nice for a doubles tournament on sunday.

I have taken some quick shots of what I will be using.

Also there is marbo in the army I just forgot to put him in the pictures

My allies half of the army has a fort of redemption so the bombards can sit behind that and my command squad can hide in it until the gunships arrive. The vets will deploy in gunships or in bunker depending on mission on enemy. Marbo will be a dick cos thtas what he does.

My mates army is nurgles chaos marines. Got all infantry. havoks and oblitorators in the bunker with 2 squads of plague marines that can go in bunker or whatever depending on mission and a lord with just a bolter to man the lascannon

Should be fun its a nasty army. Test game tonight.

Firstly, great looking stuff as usual truffle. Secondly the marauder destroyer is massive, i didn't realise the size of them until you posted that one of it being used in a game, it dwarfs the Baneblade in size even!

Awesome to see some nicely painted bombards! I think this is one of the first I've seen outside of the FW website. I'll add one to the giant list of stuff to paint.... one day...!

Any plans to do any crew? Would be cool to make a battery of them with spare shells, gunners and so on!

Yeah the destroyer is silly sized

I might well do some crew at a later date. Just getting them on the board at the minute.

Had a couple of games with the fort last night. That was a learning game and a half lol works well though I really like it I recommend it for all none tank based guard armies.
