Hey, nothing like reliving your child hood right? I like re watching all of the old shows I watched as a kid.

I just finished the 2nd Gaiden Series of Legend of the Galactic Heroes. It was ok just like the previous Gaiden Series. There's really no point to either series unless you really love the universe that much. I would just recommend the main show to anyone and nothing else.

The last anime that I have watched is Code Geass. That was the final one I have finished and found it to be quite excellent.

I just rewatch kinos journey while I paint all the time. Such an incredible show that nobody has ever seen.

Believe me, you will soon forget I even mentioned it. This is no reverse psychology at play, everyone I have ever told about it quickly forgot about it. The one guy I practically forced to watch it liked it, but I don't have the energy to make everyone watch it, lol.

Looks good from the clip I saw

As anyone seen Letter Bee at all
I rather rated the series.

Well, if you just break the norm and watch it, be sure to tell me what you thought of it.

Have been watching Witch Hunter Robin, which is okay but a tad slow and predictable

Awesome, btw, what's your take on soul eater? I saw a clip of it that was a fight between some chick with a scythe and some odd s&m looking thing. Visuals looked great and action was smooth. Also plan to watch that darker than black anime that was brought up earlier in the thread.

I liked Soul Eater, except the end was poor. iirc it was rather contrived as is often the way, but definitely worth a watch.

Missed the Darker than Black mention.

Shaman King is not too bad also Flame Recca but they also lack in the endings

A series I thought good but not seen mentioned is Shangri La
Might be worth checking out

EDIT
watched the first episode of Kinos Journey
Seems a strange little anime
So I will watch the series for sure.

There was an emptiness in it which is not a criticism, just a sense of longing and sadness that is poignant.
Maybe that is just this particular episode since the town is empty!

You'll find moments of happiness rather rare in that show. Sometimes it gets downright wtf.

Favorite episodes are A Tale of Feeding Off Others (Ep 2), Colliseum 1&2 (Ep 6&7), A Peaceful Land (Ep 12), and A Kind Land (Ep 13)

Not just that episode. It's not always emptiness, although there's a lot of that, but poignancy abounds in general. It's a very, very good series.

Anime = Animation.

So yes. But if you for whatever feel it does not count, see answer #2.

Anime (アニメ?, [anime] ( listen); English: /ˈænɨmeɪ/ ( listen) or /ˈɑːnɨmeɪ/) is the Japanese abbreviated pronunciation of "animation". The definition sometimes changes depending on the context.[1] In English-speaking countries, the term most commonly refers to Japanese animated cartoons.[2]

Animation =/= Anime as the term is used in most Western countries.

By your logic South Park is Anime.

Far from me wanting to be pedantic the thread has been a useful grapevine for exchanging titles and getting some good tips on what to watch.

A general animation thread for MLP would be a better place to suggest that show.
But given the fanbase that exists on Dakka am sure most people have already been made aware of it.

As you are doubtless aware Anime usually refers to a style of Japanese graphic. If we start listing general animation the thread loses its purpose.

Witch Hunter Robin has picked up
Was worth sticking with what I thought was a slow start with complete episodes and no overriding story arc.

Has become more involved now

I love Chobits! My girlfriend forced me to watch it. I never really cared much for Anime. Aside from Akira and some older really bloody stuff I saw when I was younger I was never exposed to a lot of the cool stuff out there. The most recent Anime I watched was the entire Elfen Lied series. It was amazing!

If you read the Soul Eater manga, it's gotten really good lately. Much better than the anime's ending; though the manga is still ongoing, it's looking like a promising end.

Madoka was an EXCELLENT show; so good that I'm running a role playing game on campus based in Madoka's universe.

I've also started watching Nijichou and K-ON; both radical departures from what I usually watch (Black Lagoon, FMA, DBZ, Gurren Lagann, etc).

What's Soul Eater like anyway? I've heard it mentioned a few times but dismissed it as something along the lines of Bleach.
