Sorry in my experience that just doesnt work, or give the same effect. Washes contain ink, and as such adds a sheen to the miniature you can't get any other way. adding detergent will add a greasy film which will rub off or degrade through touching, including applying purity seal.

To be honest I have no idea of what you are talking about I never had problems with it. I normally use W&N flow improver and not detergent and never add a problem. Les uses the same thing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6OSyAT7-Ys. I also do my own washes with ink if needed more than once.

Each to their own. As an artist, I know what works for me, and from experience, that technique doesnt.

I do it the cheap way though
A slight bit of water and the colour i want (3/1) and i have no issues.

Which brings me to this how the hell did you end up lurking here I mean I remember being 20 once ok nearly 15 years ago now, most of it was a blur from 18 to 27 but I guess I had to grow up eventually then I re found my hobby and reverted back to my child hood

Well, lets just say most women of your age and looks when I was 20 would be out clubbing drinking and what ever else it is they did, never did I see one with the time or interest in this hobby don't get me wrong I aint nocking you for it on the contrary I just wondered how you ended up here and with this interest

Got into this through J-Paint Wasn't that interested until I started reading the Horus Heresy books then I was hooked on Space Marines haha

All I can say is....I'm not your average 19 year old haha
