Thought I'd post what I did with my IG guy. This objective marker was my vision for the project from the get-go. Glad I figured out how to comply with the comp rules first & was then able to transform it into something I could use.

Thanks guys. Kind of a reflection of the current state of the weather here in Wisconsin. I am pleased with the way it turned out. Got to experiment with some new basing techniques, the snow, etc.

Here is a bit of progress on my guy. I used the lasgun to try out a couple new things- NMM bronze and wood grain. I learned quite a bit during the process. This has been a blast so far.

Um... I'll go get on that then.

I've been a slack arse lately. Haven't done much in the way of anything recently. Maybe if I can unstick myself from the computer chair then I might go attempt to get something in the way of pictures taken.

I'm happy with how the wood grain came out, but I need to find a better way to photograph my models. I spent about an hour on that right arm highlighting with three different shades of red but it looks like a simple red basecoat with a wash in the picture.

Welcome to my life. My models look much different in person. You should see how low some of my best models scored...:p

Hi all! I just wanted to say thanks to Bebop for putting together this contest. Having just picked up a pile of guardsmen I figure this would be a great incentive to get my paint scheme figured out. I've got one guardsmen done and I just need to figure out my photography setup and I'll post him up on the thread.

Well, my photography needs some work and turns out that our camera doesn't have great settings for close up pictures. Here's the trial photo run with what I have. The camera angles aren't the greatest but I'll take it for my first attempt. It's amazing how different the models can look through the eye of a lens.

Hey guys! Thought I would finally get around to finishing mine and upload on the last day...
I am not 100% happy with the final product, but hey, how can you be when there is so many great entries into the competition! Well done guys!
His fatigues are different to his Lasgun because I wanted the gun to look like it had been custom sprayed or wrapped, and I thought I would go for some Oakley style military boots on him, not seen that yet!

Thanks guys!
HoeJarris

Alright, I'm convinced, I'm going to see if I can polish up my pics with better lighting...

Edit: OK judges, I have cleaned up a couple of small details that the camera can see but my old eyes cannot and took some better pics.

Like this one:

All five pics can be found at the tag IG challenge final-final and the images all have the "IG Challenge Final" text.

Thanks again for hosting this and for all of the inspiration I got from the other participants!
