Well I got this in the mail along with the new box that arrived in the mail on Wednesday



So this will be a blog on how to build a Forge World Reaver Titan hope you enjoy as soon as more picks upload they will be posted.
To build this model you will need some tools a exacto knife, hobby drill, razor saw, files, sand paper a stove or something to make hot water, super glue and or epoxy resin and green stuff might be required as well depending on the casting quality of your kit

Cool, I've always wondered what this kit looked like before assembly, it looks demanding. Way to go for getting such a great model and sharing in its construction!

What is really funny the warhounds feet are more complicated than the reavers

I am thinking about magnetizing the weapons so I can change them about depending on who I am fighting. I think the arms will be the hardest to make work because of the cables that attach to the hull, but I am putting my brain to work to make this happen.

I'll definately be keeping an eye on this build. May the delicacy of the Holy Pie guide your hand.

Woah, That is a helluva kit. I am just awaiting delivery of a Maurauder Bomber so I have to ask you, what glue do you use for your forgeworld stuff?

Super glue or two part epoxy resin depending on the strength required for the part in question and don't forget pins lots of pins

According to the instructions I went out out of order. I don't think I did on the first page it shows the upper leg and hip joint and the lower leg with the leg piston mounts if you follow this and then flip over the page it has you attaching the armor mount without the piston mounts attached. I started there and went back to the first page. You attach the armor mounts to the armor and not to the leg you hold the parts together while the glue dries between the armor and the mount. It shows a pick in the instructions so I wont put that here. There are two different mount parts a long one and a short one the short one the curved part is towards the armor.






This is the long armor mount the curved part faces the leg.

Now on to the first page here you start with the lower leg and glue in the leg piston mounts.



And the upper leg and hip joint.





The upper leg is not glued together to help with painting just the hip to the thigh

Couple of Questions:

1)Are you planning on gluing the whole thing together or are you going to pin it for assembly/disassembly

2)What has been the quality of the model so far?
and
3)What colours are you going to paint it?

Wait, yours came in a box?! :( I just got a bag of pieces.

It is desinged to be separated at the waist for transport. I am going to try to magnitize the arms so I can change out the weapons and I am going to try to make the other top weapons that are allowed for it.
It was quite nice there were two minor problems I hopefully am able to fix but forge world owes me a new tec priest and maybe a new melta cannon heat shield. Well the bags were in a box so unless you got yours at games day or a GW store you should have gotten a box too.
As to paint it will be painted like the wolfhound in my first post.
I forgot my computer at home so there won't be any updates till I get home.

If you're worried about the cabling I've seen some good conversions that use flexible plastic or rubbery coils instead (like on landline phones) or just straight smooth electrical ones magnetised at the end. If you can get one the right colour even better, they're a bit of a pain to find primer that sticks to them, but given the price of the models the few hours extra work is worth it.

The cables are large enough for magnets so that is not a problem and the are pre-bent unlike the ones that came with the warhound

All parts have been washed and are ready for priming so paint and major construction will start soon

Primer has started on the leg foot areas as soon as I finalize what I am doing with the base construction can begin

Pining has started

first the knees you have to pin the knees first or the ankles and hips wont line up.



Then I pinned the ankles.



After I get the base based I am thinking about putting skittarii on it walking through the legs and shooting something in the distance I tried to have it stepping on something but the base was too small it would need to be about 14" in diameter it is 12" now and it is almost too small.

Skittarii?

Still think it is the best option as it fits in so well with the titan legions.

Beautiful metalics there... The sheer size of that kit is insane! S'pose that the mold lines are easy to clean off though. All the best with this one matey!

As to mold lines it depends there are spots where you can't see them and others where they show no matter how you try to clean them up it is all the luck of the draw really.
