here is an little burned out imperial park. i have been trying to finish more terrain for the FLGS.

Some tox guardsmen for scale and just overall ruined imperial architecture.

been working on some simple difficult terrain markers, simple repeatable and always different rubble piles.
C&C welcome

Thats a cool ruined park but i think adding some scorched shrubery would give it a more life like feel also add some static grass to the gravled area.

It needs some more junk on it. I know it has been made for playing, that's probably why it's so empty in middle, but I still think it needs more stuff.
Still, it looks pretty cool.

Honestly I'd say that looks about how I imagined a normal, un-ruined Imperial park would look.

I didn't think Imperials had public parks. You know, to busy making bullets and tanks to take a stroll in the park. I like the idea though.

Looks great! How about a statue or fountain in the middle?

It has some snazzy elements, but they're spread very thinly, poking out from piles of rocks. It doesn't feel like it was ever a thing before being a ruined thing. I would beef up the perimeter structures a bit, to give it a more defined shape (or even a stronger hint at its former shape) and to justify the sheer volume of rubble, since that's a whole lot of detritus for the equivalent of a wrought iron fence with 2 tall gates surrounding an empty lot.

Instead of creating a base, I think it would work better just to make separate pieces to place on the battle board. Flower beds, ruined seats, fountains, bird baths, footpaths, bike racks etc etc. With enough of these you could change your "ruined park" in a number of ways by placing such items in different spots.

Love the concept, but looks like a WIP to me at the moment. I guess when I think park I think of PLANTS, statues, benches, things like that. This kind of looks like any generic courtyard/building rubble.

Even painting some green grass type texture on the base would help the park feel.

I do really like the idea though. It's very clever. The work you've done so far looks good too. Just need that little extra something....

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

I'd agree that it needs some grass at least

The general shape/design is solid - just needs more plants.

Very near finished on the public park but i also have some pics of a few other pieces i have been working on lately. C&C are welcome

I have actually been considering puting an armorcast piece i have that is a pile of skulls in the center to spruce it up a little. But I have found that most any statue or monument would fit in place to make the whole thing complete.

This is a simple factory building, i want to make a simple raised surface that could be used for any game that need a good center piece or strongpoint that could establish a good narrative for a campaign or single mission.

As before C&C are welcome.

That park is looking pretty cool. Are you going to put anything in the park. Maybe a broken swing set or knocked over slide?

I like it very much. I would go with all the suggestions above. I would also consider making it bigger. But wip!

The next step is finishing the armorcast skull pile. It willprobably be opposite the tree or I will drill out the bottom to fit it over the trunk, but pics are soon to come.

I made a park very similar to this, but with trees. How else am I supposed to get forests in an otherwise urban environment. this is looking very good.

It depends on the planet. Although even on a forge world people have some spare time. Just not much.

Wow! Awesome transformation on the park between the first and second set of pics. The buildings should be great around it as well.

I would second the statue idea, because I think something in the center of the park would tie it all together. What I might do, in your place, is either put in a toppled statue or a broken one. I wonder if you couldn't get your hands on an old trophy, maybe from a yard sale or something like that, which could be a pretty easy conversion.

a park malkes sense to me - even the grimmest industrial city has a few small parks dotted here and there, sometimes they're the only greenery you see. Adding a statue or fountain or imperial shrine would make sense - make it removeable to give you choices when setting up a game. Similarly, I'd suggest some removeable planter boxes (battle-damaged, of course) - great cover during a battle.
