I'm curious, If you are trying to make tubing on a conversion, what would be the best material to use? I've seen guitar strings to plastic tubes, and im just wondering which would be the best or the cheapest.
i ask, because i plan to have my CSM equipped with a flamer have a tank on the back, with a tube going from the tank to the flamer.
which would be the cheapest or the best to use? If I'm going for a guitar string, which gauge?

Just get a full set of wire for an electric guitar or bass and you are good for a long while. note pre bend it before you glue it

Some circular cable-ties work well, assuming you can find decent ones

Heat and stretch sprue. Once you soften it the faster you pull it the thinner it is. And it's cheap, since it comes with every plastic model. The safest way to heat it is to use a hair dryer. You'll have to experiment to find out what setting and how long (hold the sprue in the air stream until it bends under its own weight).

if i do that, how would i round it to get the tubing effect?
also, is there a cheaper alternative to guitar string? they appear to be rather expensive in my city

If you are wanting cables, guitar strings are best. But if you are wanting hoses you can use different thickness of fishing line or picture hanging plastic line.

Go to a music store I am sure they would give you some used wire for free if you ask them nicely you can find cheap packs of wire in hardware stores but it won't have the ribbing the guitar wire has.

The other cheap alternative is insulated electrical wire. Either extracted from broken household items or purchased for not very much for an effectively infinite amount.

Solder, as used for soldering electrical connections, is good. It bends easily and retains its shape so you can make it hang nicely.

Don't forget Green Stuff. I attempted to make pipes for a meltagun conversion, and found guitar string not pliable enough for the angles I had. A simple GS snake worked fine though.

Amazingly it rounds itself out. It's an OLD trick used to make antennae and wires for tank and aircraft models. (You can't teach an old dog new tricks, but you can teach an old dog to teach a young dog old tricks.)

This is how I used to make spark plug wires for model cars. Only I used a candle. You burn a few that way

I second guitar strings, they're cheap (electric or acoustic, a 6-pack will run you about 2-3$, and last you a damn long time) and they're ribbed for your convenience. Make sure you're not buying bass strings, as those will run you more in the range of 20$ for four (it sucks having to change them, believe me) or nylon as they're too thin and I question their ability to hold paint.
