So after my fairly long post in the tournament section on a counts-as army for eldar I've decided I want to do an exodite army. After seeing a few peoples blogs all over the internet, including here, I've gotten a few ideas for what I want to do. So I'll be building my all "jetbike" army at the same time as my "footdar" style list. I'll be posting pictures of models under their description as I build and then paint them. Avatar: I'm open to ideas here. Right now I'm leaning towards an Autarch style models riding a wingless dragon or large wingless wyrm. I'm open to other ideas. Eldrad/Farseer: I'm torn between a Wood Elf Lord or possibly a conversion using a Shining Spear Torso, DA legs w/Exarch loin cloth and a staff and blade of some sort Autarch on Jetbike: Possibly use Shining Spear Exarch Torso on DE COK legs. Laser Lance. COK's Champion Cold One. Magnetize a Shuriken Pistol Arm ( DA?) and an army holding a Reaper ML. Guardians: Guardian Catapult arms and head (depending on how they fit). Corsair body and cloak. Greenstuff as neccesary. Guardian Weapon Platform: Last Edition Cold Ones w/heavy weapon mounted on it's back. Warlocks on Jetbike: Glade Guard hooded head. COK legs. Dire Avenger w/runic jeweled chest. DA Spear, DA Shimmer Shield Arm. DE Cold One Guard Jetbike: COK legs, DE Cold One, Guardian Torso, Guardian Head, DA Catapult arms, DA Targeter on back armor Shining Spear: COK legs, DA Torso, DA Crested Helms, Shining Spear Laser Lance, Guardian/ DA left arms w/hand cut off, COK shield, Guardian Rear fin for back armor. DE Cold One Warp Spiders: Open to ideas on how to convert these to match more otherwise I'll just be using the standard models and claiming this as the one aspect shrine that still regularly visits this world. Wraithlord: Carnosaur w/Wave Serpent turret w/magnetized weapons on his back. Slight modification to head (nothing crazy) for dinosaur control. No rider. Flamers would be his "breath". War Walkers: Spotter/Controller Guardian using bits from the HW Team Guardians mounted on DE Cold One. Weapon beast similar to heavy weapon teams but with both weapons. So that's the idea. The all mounted "biker" army will be build similar to what is written here with the exception of the seer council which I'll make a more shamanistic riding unit. Also had an idea that Wraithguard (if I ever decide to field them) could be Kroxigor carrying modified Starcannon's to count as the Wraithguard. So feedback and ideas are very, very welcome.

All sounds good. I think for the Avatar you could use the Orion, King of the Woods model.

What about a Shaggoth for the Avatar? It would fit the Dragon/Lizard theme of the army.

I second the use of Orion, its a great model. For an Exodite army though I would consider changing his axe to something akin to the FW avatar singing spear.
Obviously your choice but don't forget that Harlequins and Rangers can still be used with no problem. Both groups regularly visit the Exodite worlds.

Orion comes with a spear actually. The Shaggoth comes with an Axe. Which model do you think would go best Lenny?
As for rangers and Harlies i'll probably be adding them for the reason you mentioned but their not in the first group

I think in terms of an overall Elven aesthetic, Orion wins hands down. He just looks a lot more like a elven deity. The Shaggoth is a cool model, but for me doesn't convey the necessary things to be recognisable as belonging to an Elven force.

I agree with Lenny here, Hulk. The shaggoth doesn't really capture the hybrid elf/dino/dragon/lizard concept. I'd go with Orion as well, but I use the standard Avatar model for my 'World Spirit'. My fluff incorporates Biel-Tann eldar colonizing an exodite world though, so they've brought some standard eldar goodies with them.

Maybe Orion's torso on a coldone body? Sort of like Shaggoth, but from the Elven range. The avatars usually look a bit tougher and grizzlier than the rest of the Eldar.

Always nice to see another take on exodites.

@Gavin
Thanks, and yeah. It's the normal Laser Lance Shining Spear arm.
@Whitedragon
That's pretty much where I think I'm going to be headed. It's either that or a unwinged dragon. The only reason I'm hesistant about the guy riding a Carnosaur is because I'm using Carnosaurs as my Wraithlords

Might not be a bad Idea. Maybe I'll use a Dragon Ogre body instead of a cold one. That'll make it a bit bigger and also is designed for an upper torso.

Was just thinking of a few other models you could use for your World Spirit/ Avatar. If I remember correctly the Necron C'Tan was used very successfully by someone to create the Eldar Laughing god of the Harlequins. The concept would be sound for a World Spirit also I think if you followed a similar design aspect of the WE Spellsingers.
It would also avoid your issue with already using C.saurs.
