Hi All. This is a project that I just finished for a local painting contest. Although I didn't win I really had fun making this Stormraven.

In the making of this I used a few kits. I think all of you can see the Valkyrie Kit. I also used the eagle head from the Shrine of The Aquila and the "tail" comes from the Sanctum Imperialis. Lastly I used the Land Raider Crusader Pack for the Multi Multa, Assault Cannon and the flare and chaff launcher. There is also a bit of custom Plastic Card work.

I found the idea on the net and added some extras like the swept forward wings and the top turret. Personally I wanted a Stormraven that looked like it could fly and not drop like a stone. The Shrine of The Aquila eagle nose was a cool addition and the Sanctum Imperialis bits rounded the feel that it was modeled after a bird of prey.

That is a work of genius! The inclusion of the additional eagle motif stuff looks brilliant and the weathing is extremely good as well.

Also it does look appropriately angry

The call numbers are classic as are all the markings, etc.

Fluff-wise do marines pilot the Stormravens? The pilots are the one thing that look "off" to me. I think I'd rather see marines in the cockpit with no helmets: bald yelling space marine heads...

I think it could be improved if there was an angry marine hanging out of the cockpit/ side door holding a baseball bat/plank of wood with nail through it. Would be hilarious!

It looks totally awesome. All the painting and details are super cool. The one thing I dislike is that it look far too much like a Valkyrie still, you haven't really done anything to take it away from that and make it a Storm Raven.

P.S. You can't have Angry Marines fly the thing, they'd just crash it headlong into the enemy.

This is great. My old Land Raider had a "W" sticker on the back. I love character on vehicles. There's so much room to work with, and you really made good use of it.

It could stand to be a bit more conversiony to be a Storm Raven, but it is fine as is, and it makes a really cool valk. What is the nose made of?
