That is looking very good. The only thing I would say is drill holes in the storm bolter and it will make the model look even better!

My painting and Gaming blog, check it out and let me know what you think.

Why did you file all the details off?

The painting is quiet nice, but the model looks rather dull as there are no points of interest.

You've only been painting a week? You are friggin good. Especially without experience.

Okay, I've been on a bit of a hiatus 2011-14

Currently working on my Riot Guard.

Hi, guys ye i've never painted a Gw minis before. I was pretty good at art in school but that was a few years ago now. iIdid my research on you tube and got a issue of white dwaft with a painting tutorial in there for the space hulk terminator and took tips form that!

Very Nice, I particularly like the Head and face which is always a difficult area to get right.

A quick tip from my experience. I use a Pin Vice (a sort of micro hand drill) to drill out the Bolters and all weapons. It makes them look really smart, takes patience and a steady hand but it is not beyond anyone really.

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest!

Since you filed off the chest aquila might I suggest you attach another parchment roll to the chest? and your shoulder pads are the wrong way round.

Other than that i wish mine had looked as good!

That Terminator ROCKS!

I can't believe that it's your first model... Don't lie to me now, but you must've done a fair bit of research beforehand eh?

Well done anyways!

If that's your first ever Miniature, then where did you get the Building, and the Tabard? Neither come with the Terminator Boxed Set, as far as I was aware? Very nice painting. You must forgive me, I find it hard to believe that this is your work. One week's painting, you say? Tell the truth! I apologise if I come across as distrusting and paranoid, but we recently had a case of somebody who appeared, had 'Spectacular' Miniatures, and then promptly left when he failed to answer questions about them to a believable level.

But enough of that. How did you achieve the Red?

Hey,popsicle No this 100% my first model like i said i was rahter a good artist in school and university got tops marks in my work...!! but i never have painted a GW mini before i understand the principles of base colours , midtones and highlights ..!! It's not really hard if you do your research correctly.. As for what you said about the base and building i purchesed alot of material when i bought the terminator box as i knew the five or so colours they tell you will need on the box is no where near correct. I bought a cities of death kit . i bought over 40 different GW colours , box of washes, and a large selection of their brush range and Glue .. i now this may seem alot for a first time buy but i have visited my local gameswork shop store alot of time and asked so many question i drove the staff mad.oooo and as for the bass that is just an ice cream tub lid drawn around cut out and divided into sections.. i hope this as answeres some of your questions..?? Right the red ..!! Start mechrite read washed in light brown inck , then mechrite leaving the wash in the recesses then add a 2/1 mix of mechrite red and blood red, then for the next layers two drops of blood red to one drop mechrite red and gradually going till you reach blazing orange for the highligh colours.. then a wash with either sepia or baal red to blend all the colours together . I then went in with devlan mud for the really deep recesses.

That's an incredible first paintjob. My only issue is that he lacks contrast. Since you shaved off the eagle on his chest, you don't have any real visual interest in the area. I understand the aesthetic reasons to shave it off though. You could definitely put some cool freehand in that area if you wanted; you've got the skills as far as I'm concerned. About how long did it take you to paint this guy? I'd love to see an army painted like this.

Check out my Youtube channel!

HI, brother SRM it took me 1 hole day and a bit more of constant painting. I got up in the A.M around eight and painted till twelve in the night so about 16 straight hours of solid painting. thanks for the feed bck . I shaved the chest as i wanted to concerntrate on my blending for my first mini even though the pics dont show it to well it as come out better than i could have anticipated.. As you can see by the ballte damage i added this after as i then realised that it did look a little plain. Never mind next time i will leave all the markings on the model and not file it off. Thanks for your feed back
