A friend of mine found this on one of his internet cruises, and I thought I'd share it. I can see many different modeling possibilities.

For the link-impaired:
FlimSlash poster Peter Sciretta wrote:At Comic-Con, WETA Workshop unvieled the newest District 9 collectable, a statue of the Exosuit from the film.
Modeled with fanatical attention to detail by Weta Senior Modelmaker David Tremont and art directed by Greg Broadmore, this piece has been created by the very same artists and craftsmen who worked on the movie. Produced in a strictly limited edition of only 600 world wide and being such an incredibly detailed model, the Exosuit is likely to be very popular and we recommend pre-ordering to avoid disappointment.
This six and a half pound 12 inch tall statue is limited to 600 pieces, and will be available in the first quarter of 2011. You can preorder now on Wetanz.com for $599.99.
...
Official Information:
Prize item in Nigerian crimelord and gun runner Obesandjo’s stash of alien weaponry, the alien exosuit provides Wikus van der Merwe with a much needed advantage in the epic final battle against Koobus and his Reaction Force troops. Look closely and you will see not only the Arc Generator, but also the Assault Rifle mounted to the exterior of this massive exoskeletal power suit. It’s a tank with arms and legs - mess with it at your peril.
Designed for the District 9 movie by Weta Designer Greg Broadmore, this awesome piece of equipment is fully featured for serious battle in alien worlds. It sports an array of weapons and communications systems, most of which are beyond what human scientists can fathom, let alone replicate. Being such an iconic feature in the film, the Exosuit will feature on the cover of The Art of District 9, scheduled for release later this year.

Weta's been doing alot of cool collectible lately.

I hope one of the boutique toy companies decides to do one of these, the price in statue forms a bit steep.

Hmmm... It looks like what would happen if Tau built crisis suits for the kroot.

Is it me or the scale looks way to big for 28-30mm miniatures?

At 12" tall it's around the size of a Forgeworld Warhound. At 6.5 lbs you're also looking at it weighing a little more than a red-brick. Yikes!

Yeah, but at that price it's "cheaper" than a Warhound

Though not by much.

Well, I could afford it, I'd just have to stop eating for a while. Fortunately, I don't really want it.

EDIT: (I do.)

If by not by much, you mean not at all, yeah.

But you're right, $599.99 USD is TOTALLY cheaper than $486 USD.

Um, that's just the body and one set of weapon arms. Whose going to buy it with just one set of arms? To get all four, it comes out to $603, plus shipping ...

Mars Warhound Titan: 235 GBP

Mars Pattern Plasma Blastgun: 35 GBP

Mars Pattern Vulcan Mega Bolter: 35 GBP

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Titans/MARS-PATTERN-VULCAN-MEGA-BOLTER-LEFT-ARM.html

Total: 305 GBP = 486 USD

I wouldn't necessarily get those 2 arms(I'd go for double Turbo lasers), and see no reason to buy 4 when there's only 1 good and 1 decent weapon available to Warhounds, but to humor you with 4 arms:

With all 4 arm varients: 375 GBP = 595.862 USD
