I am trying to make a warlock titan and I would appreciate any modeling advice. My idea consists of using an artists manikin and sculpting on it with greenstuff and sheets of balsa wood...it's not coming along well so I turn to you.
Thanks

A Warlock Titan?

I don't see what it's supposed to look like (unless you meant Warlord Titan...) Do you have any pic or sketch ?

Are you building this in Epic scale or for 40K? I'm sure they come in all sorts of sizes, but if based off of an artist's mannequin, I assume it's for 40K.

Honestly, I'd rethink your entire approach. Eldar titans simply don't share human proportions, which are exactly what those mannequins are supposed to mimic. If you look around online a bit you can find some great WIP threads for Eldar titans to inspire you. I recall one, in particular, where the builder used toothbrush handles to great effect (you know, those bulbous sculpted ones - the shape is far more similar to the titan's limb sections than dowels and a ball-joint). With a bit of trimming and GS blending, a plasticard cone would do for the shin armor. Boom, done - you've got yourself a leg, right there.

Thanks for wasting my time. Try using a question mark in the title next time.

My own Eldar titan project references that work. Though I have to say that the final piece they ended up with was not all that great...

thanks for the advice SilverMK2, I think I saw your titan in the gallery if I remember correctly, good idea with the tooth brushes but I ended up using an artist manikin

And thank you Dreadnote for the size comparison, it was a little late as I had already started but lucky me it's the perfect size, exactly 12"

I chose to give it wings instead of jump packs and actually hollowed out it's head and gave it a removable faceplate that slides up to show the Guardian pilot (a pretty cool feature) I need some greenstuff to smooth some of the joints and sanded areas and then I need to paint it (not something I excel at)

Wish me luck, I may post pictures to the gallery soon

You're welcome - although a phantom/warlock would be a bit bigger than the pictured revenant.
