Have you ever saw some happen to your opponent were you had to say: EPIC FAIL!

My opponents epic fail- Deep strikes his Trygon Prime. Shoots some acid thing at my SM, all shots fail to hit. I have my 5 man Sternguard Squad open fire on it with 10 hellfire rounds, 9 hit, 8 wound, 2 armor saves are passed, all else fail, it dies. YAYZ FOR ME IT DIDNT HURT ME

One time, this guy spelled the word "opponent's" as "oppents". That was a pretty epic fail.

edit: Okay I guess I'll add an opponent's epic fail moment.

Dawn of war deployment seize ground mission. Opponent had Vulkan deploy with a tactical squad in the middle. I deployed 1 tactical squad far away on objective in cover, everything else coming on first turn. First turn, he moved it forward to get 15" away from my board edge out of cover. LRC comes on, unloads terminators and they assault. Goodbye vulkan and tactical squad, losing no terminators.

Worst fail I've seen in a while.

Had a tau player DS his commander and body guards in the middle of 2 full squads of shoota boys and a nob squad. When he sat them down there I didnt say a single word. I figure he had some master plane right?? Nope!!! fired some plasma rifles and missle pods killed like 6 boys then died horribly..

Worst fail I have seen was this:

my friend and his brother were playing a small scale, 800-1k point game. IG vs Necrons.

Necron player goes first, and decides to veil of darkness his 12 man warrior squad near the IG player's command squad. He rolls scatter, falls off the table, and the entire squad is destroyed. Que Necrons phasing out turn 1, before the Guard player does a single thing.

In a friendly game, a once-proud 5 man vanguard veteran squad and captain throws its last 3 members, the sergeant, a marine and the captain, into a 20 man necron squad.

Necrons phase out a turn later. (sweeping advanced them, 11 power weapons attack, 7 of which were strength 6 can do bad things to an unprotected ini 2 meq squad.)

To contribute, I had a squad of 10 grots assault a squad of Terminators. I caused 6 wounds against all odds, so he took his saves. Cue up 5 1s and a 2. 30 points of garbage killing 200 points of the Emperor's finest is always entertaining.

My very first game of 5th edition was my marines against CSM. I had a lowly 5-man tac squad with a storm bolter Sgt. and a plasma gun. His demon prince was bearing down on me. In true heroic fashion, my troops decided to hold their ground in the name of the Emporer. One round of shooting wounded enough times, combined with him failing all but one save, and just like that he died with a pathetic squeak.

Had a guy spend an entire shooting phase with his imperial guard shooting 7 scarabs that turbo boosted only to kill off 3. The remaining 4 kittied a leman russ and swept away a command squad over the following 2 turns as the rest of the game boils down to 'Oh god! Keep falling back and shooting them!'

hmm, lemme see if I can remember another time.

Oh, my brother was playing orkz. Ghazkull and some nobz were in a wartrukk against a tyranid player. The tyranid player owned his trukk, thinking it would just blow up. But no, it got the "Kareem!" result. I KAREEMED 11 inches closer to the nid player's objective, leading to the very next turn seeing an assault that won my brother the game.

not so much an EPIC FAIL as blind, dumb luck, but a funny story none the less.

Every time an opponent plans to deep strike against my Orks.

Not my opponent but I've seen it.

Necron VS Tau
1st turn
Necron Player have 2 large horde of Warrior.
One with Lord.
Lord jump with Warrior.
But he fail deep strike then roll 6,Lord & warrior died.

Then Tau turn,Shoot Warrior,they die,Fades out.

My opponent played Tau.

A friend set up the terrain for a Necromunda game, he places two buildings on each long side of the table on the middle of it... he knew I had "Vents" and 2 heavies with heavy stubbers in my list...

^ I lol'd.

But I did have a rather sad fail with my Blood Angels - I played 3 Tactical Squads and 3 Assault Squads - they all got the red thirst along with my 3 Devastator Squads. I failed as I was playing against horde of Orks.

I play Necrons so every game is like a lesson in making mistakes :(

Demon prince strolling towards my lines, cue me firing every weapon I had at it...he takes no wounds, assaults a squad of IG. He kills 5, and then I wound him once. That's right, Las cannons, battle tanks, las-guns didnt hurt it; some lucky bastard with a bayonet did. Only wound on him in the entire game.

In a game, last week, a BA guys DS'd his deathstar in the open (10 assault marines, Dante, Chappy, Sang Priest) and wrecked my Vendetta. The Veterans inside had a Demolition pack. one shot later, dante, the sarge, the chappy, and the priest are all wondering WTF just happened.

We never say EPIC phail here. it's blasphemy.

Anyway, On sunday I played a game 5000 vs 3000 [I was 3,000] My enemies Hive tyrant was tank shocked by a rhino, and in turn did a death or glory and FAILED. There went a 200 something point tyrant to a 35 point rhino...

Closest thing I have was failing to cause any damage whatsoever to Orks after 2.5 turns of marine shooting - opponent was making cover saves like crazy.

My best was my last game with my regular gaming buddy. DE vs Nids, 750pts (were playing escalation using only fully painted models, forces us to paint our armies).

Objectives and DoW, we are ignoring standard FoC due to the limits of what we have painted. So I have 15 Hormagaunts, 1 Zoan, 1 Pyro, 1 Hive Guard, 1 Tyrant, and 1 Carnifex. Hes got 2 troops in Raiders, 1 HQ and 1 Elite. By turn 3 my only troop (gaunts) was dead, he has everything but one troop left. He offers to end the game so we can start a new one, I decline.

We hit turn 7, and his entire army is either dead or routed off the table. I win by Annihilation! He just couldn't hit or wound with any dark lances, so the Fex and Tyrant never really got hurt. And both his raiders blew up and pinned their squads.

I've had my Tau FW kill a lot in CC (well for Tau). In one game my opponent had a unit of BA assualt marines fail to inflict any damage against a FW unit for 3 turns while they killed about 7 marines over the game.

Playing Apoc against my friend and I melta bomb a Stompa with one unbulit thousand son and killed it

We promptly called him Legs and legends grew and now in our FLGS he is a legend

I had my own Epic Fail moment yesterday... my buddy had two Grey Knights left in a squad, so I charged them with 8 Dire Avengers, including the Exarch with Diresword & pistol. I managed to miss with every attack, and then the Grey Knights killed four of the Dire Avengers and ran down the squad with a Sweeping Advance. My following turn I blew the bejeesus out of the Grey Knights with my squad of Kroot Mercenaries, who hit those two with eight out of ten shots and wounded with all of them, and my buddy had his own Epic Fail moment with the armor saves. In fact, that squad of Kroot Mercs went to give the Grey Knights plenty of Epic Fail moments in that game...

my friends termies and a little over half strength tac squad were going for the last objective that one of my IG units held. i was winning 3 to 2 objectives, but if he tooks this he would win and it was the last turn. my men threw a demo, missed the termies, killed the tac squad, then fired at termies killing one. he fires his termies in his turn (which was last part of the last turn) killes 3 Ig, then assaults and killes two more Ig. the serg and last 4 Ig all get hits, and wounds, and my friend fails all his armor saves. i won the game

One of my opponents in a game of Apocalypse took the Hammerblow asset and destroyed his one and only Super-heavy (Thunderhawk) with it that he had just finished scratch-building. It came in on the third turn and he then proceeded to use the asset right after he set it down. He set his Thunderhawk as die-roll 1 and proceeded to label the other 4 Super-heavies as 2-5, leaving 6 as a re-roll. On his first roll using that asset ever, he rolled a one and hit his own Thunderhawk. He got pretty pissed, as the thing costs 1000 or so points (I think)...I really doubt he'll be using that asset again any time soon.

Yeah, that's one thing I love about orks. Smart opponents are fun, and a good challenge, and orks have enough weaknesses that most armies if played by a competent opponent will be a nail bitter. When you get an over confident opponent, man can things get interesting.
Yes, a shoota boy squad can pump out 63 shots, nine of which are st. 5, than, assault for 91 attacks, 4 of which are st9 power weapon. The initiative is low, so many times some of those orks will die, but against some very low initiative squads, that amount of weight of attacks will wipe you before you get a chance, it won't mater how many re-rollable very good saves you have.

Entire terminator squad and half a tactical squad wiped out instantly by a direct hit from a demolisher.
