A few shots of flesh tearers im working... ive still not managed to get a grip of this gallery lark so fingers crossed!! This is an army painted for table top playing in mind, its never going to win me any prizes, i understand this. But what do you think?

Gabriel seth kitbash

One of my finished tac squad... i couldnt get a good shot with them all in im afraid.. the tech is week in this 1!!

One of my Sang guard, unfinished, going to have a more sinister dark colour. going to be more fierce and barbaric than most being a flesh tearer!! wings will be black, and went for a verdigra (sp??) effect on the armour

And thats mr angry, my libby dread.. he has rather a large sword...

I know these pics are a bit shody but best i can do... they really dont show enough of the detail and highlights... but unless anyone wants to come down to sunny prestatyn and give me a lesson in photography and show me how its done?... no?... fair enough lol

Cheers

Liam

Any way they look nice, once i found them, favorite bits the Sanguine sword.

Looking nice.

I think it's called verdigris.... Anyways your Seth conversion looks great, nice and characterful, but not too ornamented. I like.

What did you do to your hand?

Nice one mate, always nice to see another FT player!! I've had FTs since index astartes, where you had to roll for your DC prior to the game... and in an FT army ended up losing all your vet sgts lol... but ended up with one hell of a hammer unit of DC!!

Get some of your minis on here when done.. all in the name of poaching of course!!

your paintjobs look great i think.

the dreads sword is a bit big,but hey,the bigger the better.

the paint on the sanguinary guard looks a bit thick, could be the pic thou.and if you thin down the turquoi it would look better i think.

I like the direction your going with these. Well done.

I second HamHam's comment on the think paint. Overall that's my only critique.... thin those paints and I'll like these even more.

Cheers and good work! Keep posting in this thread with updates..

Will you share where you learned to make those great bases? I'm planning on doing a similar style with my Imperial Fist army and I'd like to know how to did it.

Thanks!

The paint actually isnt all that thick, the camera seems to have put on a few pounds lol.. Im a terrible photographer im afraid and the pics dont do the models justice... i promise i do thin my paints

I will do a little tutorial on the bases, if you want a picture tut ill do one??

As for the bases, they are really easy to do, i used;

- balsa wood
- ready mixed filler
- course sand ( stuff from the beach by the rocks is fine! )
- etched brass razorwire

- stick the balsa to your bases in a haphazard trench sort of way.
- Use filler to edge up and over some of the wood pieces
- super glue some coils of wire onto the bases (or sink it into filler)
- when dry, sand the filler down, make sure it doesnt overlap onto the rim of the base (sands away easily)
- coat of p.v.a and sand
- bobs your uncle!!

I can give you a run down of the paints i used if you want?

cheers for the interest and comments.. i have taken the paint thickness problem in mind... in RL they look great, but im a bit worried now lol, so more painting for me! I will paint some more this week and see if the results change!!!

Cheers guys!!

Nice over view of the bases. What colors did you use? I'd be interested.

Thanks again.

The colours for the base were;

- black primer
- calthan brown base
- codex grey heavily drybrushed over
- patches of camo green to represent moss drybrused on
- A final dusting with rotting flesh
- this was then washed with a mix of badab black and devlan mud.. DM 2 : BB 1 ratio

- wood areas were base coated the same
- Dry brushed with snakebite
- Slight drybrush of camo
- rotting flesh final highlight
- same wash

I will upload my finished chaplain and WIP rhino tomorrow!

Great rendition of the Flesh Tearers Chapter. I like the dark, conspiring red you chose for your army. I play Blood Angels (who doesnt right now) and I think that painting up to Blood Red on the marines seems to bright. I like your interpretation... very well done. Nice Seth conversion and I would imagine it was much cheaper to create

Again sorry for the rubbish photography! My flesh tearer chaplain, when i sprayed it with anti shine varnish, the spay pulled up some snow scatter onto the armour :(

Heres my WIP rhino... its been a bloody pain painting the flesh tearer symbol! the second shot has the dozer blade im working on shown.. this tank will be heavily weatherd and battered, but does the yellow look to much with the red? it will be alot murkier/darker red after ive treated it lol

The paint looks very thick once again on the dozer blade.. but i assure you i gave it several very thin coats.. its just my damn iphones camera is a bit poo...

C+C please

thanks for looking

So what do you think? does the yellow clash to much with the red? i want some outside crit before i finish so i dont have to repaint lol... Im thinking it should look fine when beaten up and weatherd, probably not alot of yellow left!

But any advice would be great!!

cheers!

-You chose a good color yellow for the dozer. At least form the picture its more golden and less sunburst which stick to theme of the army; dark. I agree with you, when shaded properly and the right amount of weathering and damage should make it look real nice. I would say keep it and start the weathering to see how it looks....im sure it will turn out great.

Also wanted to comment on your flesh tearer sawblades on the tank....they look fantastic....you army is coming along quick and looking real nice. I wish i could paint quickly and get the results your getting....everything looks good for how fast your updating this WIP blog!
