Games workshop's 'what's new today' has been doing a lot of WHFB updates lately, and I have to say, I could give a gak! I don't care about fantasy, nor will I ever. I wish they'd stop talking about it so much and focus on 40k more.

Is the opinion mutual? Do you give a crap about fantasy? Do you even give fantasy a second glance?

there is more to Games Workshop than 40K

Fantasy players have to suffer the endless 40k hype so c'mon Samus, just chill and give a little.

I agree in some ways but I don't mind fantasy I just hate it when GW and White dwarf cover to many things involving just 1 battle game.

They should just even the amount of stuff relevent to a certain battle games not just cover 1 at a time for weeks on end

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I haven't seen any 40k related stuff for almost a month! Three times a week is tolerable, but when you constantly have "XXXXX in 8th edition!", it gets irritating. FAST.

Chibi: True, but even a mention of 40k would be nice. Like, a painting article or something. I don't care about foghat highelves and how easy they are to paint!

In my case is worse, i only play 40k or flames of war. When appeared 8th ed of fantasy,in FLGS we where on the middle of a FOW league.... an then stopped it!!!! if its not enough, they only play fantasy every day, as far as i know, it will last few months.... annoying

Is there anything new for 40k?
No?

Then why would they have a "What's New Today" focused on 40k?
They've shown off some nice 40k scenery recently, so "almost a month" isn't true either.

Flames of War battles would be way cooler then fantasy. bad luck mate. Hopefully they will get sick of it within the month so long as GW stops posting fantasy stuff online and in Whit Dwarf

I know them from years ago.... it will take more time i can assure you... anyway... it makes me more sense to have saved a lot of fantasy things, so that means i can do as a "rogue trader" ( it will not be the first time), by now, i have to change some dwarves for SM (the Black Corsairs are gathering reinforcements ), and i have far more things for trade

Got to say I'm a bit fed up of all the Fantasy updates.

I've nothing against the Fanatsy game. If I ever have enough money I may even try it. But I'm a 40K player and would love to hear some 40K news. The scenery updates were nice but it's been Fantasy, Fantasy, Fantasy for weeks.

And I'm sure there is plenty of 40K news, they are just not telling us yet.

Apologies for talking positively about games I enjoy.

Seems to me that 40K gets more than its fair share of plugging from GW, Fantasy is having some because it's just had a new edition released, normally I see 40K everywhere.

Then don't read the What's New until they start showing pictures of 40k stuff or new 40k stuff goes up for preorder?

This isn't hard, people.
Fantasy's new edition just got released last month. It's going to be getting alot of news time, simply by virtue of being new and them just releasing the new starter set this week.

Precisely! It's not rocket surgery here.

New edition=newsworthy.

What is this "Fantasy" you all speak of?

Unless it applies to Warhammer Online, I could careless. I don't like the TT version of Fantasy, and I agree OP, gets fustrating when Fantasy is all WD wants to talk about, issue after issue.

You mean, unlike the issue after issue after issue after issue of new ways to paint your Space Marines?

Please. 40k gets just as much space in WD as Fantasy. Fantasy's just getting more cover time, again, because of a new edition being released.

Think back to when 40k's new edition was being released.

i aint got that much of a problem with fantasy. Its that bloody lord or the rings stuff that enfuriates me. I cant belive people play that crap. Everytime you go into GW they have the theme tune playing over and over i wish theyde just put the torch to it all.

Were there not some Daemonettes released recently or some such 40k applicable stuffery?

Don't worry Samus, you'll soon have 40k when the IoB promos settle down. Dark Eldar will be all over the place before you can say Soddom and Commarragh

Sorry didn't realise it was so biased lately as I only skip through the newsletters usually. Fantasy is my first choice so it didn't register that 40k was so badly neglected.

don't be mean to Tolkein old thing
I like it myself and assume some like it even more.

Different strokes etc

This, literally two people at the local store play it
Someone trying to find a game of LotR/WotR is both funny and depressing at the same time. One guy calls out if anyone is interested in playing a game of it, or the staff ask if anyone's up for the a LotR themed event. Either one guy will reply to it or no one because he isn't there and the other guy works there.

As for the people complaining about WHFB taking the spotlight away from 40k, relax. 40k will be the majority of GW's attention span again in a heartbeat. I don't doubt they'll probably try to do something special to make up for it. An interesting game to kill some time is count the marines, where you count up the total marines that appear in the GW publication. Not mention, but actual image of them.

@ Chibi: Horrors, the long awaited Daemon Prince, Kairos and some other stuff. I know because they were released on my birthday (birthday emails from friends then "BUY NEW DAEMONS!!" in the middle )

You haven't missed something. Its the 'middle ages' variant of 40k.

Both systems, Fantasy and 40k, diverged in their rule set.

I play both Fantasy and 40K and it is great there is a lot of attention on the new edition but it would be nice if next month saw a release of some 40K army such as DH/DE (codex Space BloodDarkWolves heheheh) rather than High Elves however I think they are saving the big 40K releases for Christmas shopping.

As for LoTR - Great book, great movies, gak tabletop game.
