Hey everyone!
What an interesting couple of weeks it's been. Needless to say, we aren't going anywhere just yet, why should we?
So, with that out of the way, as I announced on the Chance of Gaming Podcast September is Founder's Month here at Outrider Hobbies. What is "Founder's Month"? Basically, my birthday is in September, because of that I'm giving you all a discount. For the rest of September, whenever you use the code Founder2010 you will get 15% off of all foam trays. Just visit us at www.outriderhobbies.com/store for all your foam needs.
In addition, you can now pre-order the new Force Operations bag, the Ranger. The bag is available in a variety of colors, red, blue, green, black, plus a variety of camouflage colors. You can order the bag here. Unfortunately due to the pre-order status of the bag, and the cost of the bag itself, the Founder's Month discount does not apply.
Thanks for visiting!

Holy crap X_x I don't like that website, lol. This is the first time I've seen the actual store section of it, because every time I went before it was so hard to find it I just kinda gave up.
Maybe it's just me, I mean I know I'm pretty stupid, but I can usually find my way around on a website.

You guys are 100% right. I'm working on it with a friend this week. If we can't get it workable, then other methods will be looked at for getting the site done.

Panic,
Just out of curiosity, what is it you don't like about the look?
If it's the shape and pockets I can't do much about that. If it's the color or the camouflage, that we can help with. There are a lot of options available on the colors, just check out the list on the site.
Check out this thread for more information.

yeah,
I think I'd prefer less flashy colour. plain dark grey or something.
It's hard to put a finger on what exactly what else puts me off... I think the shape looks a little awkward, too wide from where the strap is to where the bag will rest against your body, Possibly uncomfortable when being carried.
Panic...
Panic.

Panic,
Plain Dark Grey is available, I didn't get any in my first batch by mistake (got a more codex grey color), but it will be in the next batch and cost the same as the US Army digital camo.
As for the shape, the footprint is about the same as the Sabol Motor Pool. Good point about the strap, I'll get some pictures taken of the bag being carried with the strap on the shoulder.
Also, there is a smaller bag that will be coming (Hopefully before Christmas) that is about half the size. Same book pockets, small pockets on the end of the bag.
Let me know if there are any other questions I can answer.
Thanks,
Bryan wade

Fresh-Faced New User
|
I recently got my hands some of the new Outrider Hobbies Ranger Bags. I thought people might like to see some photos and hear one customers opinion of the bags.
I ordered 2 bags for my Retribution of Scyrah and Blood Angels armies. Take a guess which bag my BA are in I was sorta nervous when I chose the camo pattern, but in person the pattern looks great.
The coloured bags really help with organizing my minis. I have 4 black GW cases and I always needed to triple check that I grabbed the right case, leaving all your ASM at home makes for a sad BA player. My Nids and Tau are very jealous of my BA and I think they may go on strike if I don't get them matching bags too lol.
Some size Comparison Shots:
Small Gw Case:
Large GW Case:
Sabol mk1 bag:
Material Closeup:
I was really happy with the material the bag was made out of. It's got the feel of a nice durable canvas.
Shots of the pockets:
BA Codex & 40k Mini brb
Plenty of room left with the mini brb and BA codex.
Front Pockets
These pockets easily fit all the tape measures, templates, dice and tokens I need to play my BA.
Warmachine & RoS Rulebooks
Side Shot with both books to show width added:
The 2 books are snug in there. You could fit a little bit more, ex. army printouts, but not much else in there. The velcro on the pockets keeps most of it nice and flush. The one negative the pockets is that the corners do flare out a bit.
Foam Capacity:
Outrider Custom Cut Foam:
Sabol pluck trays:
The sabol trays fit in perfectly. I even tried mismatching the outrider foam and sabol stuff an ran into no problems.
Outrider Foam:
When ordering the foam, I let Bryan know what models I wanted to fit in and he helped work out the foam layouts for my models. Pretty much everything fit in perfectly. Some models are a little tight because I didn't account for the extra height that the resin bases I used would add to the models.
Transportation:
The straps on the bag are good, and the bags are easy to transport. They seem cumbersome, but the shoulder strap is well placed and I haven't had any problem with it.
The bottom and top of the bag have a hard plastic sheet sown in. With rule books and the foam packed in the bag is quite sturdy and should protect models from standard wear and tear. I don't think I would fly or put it under a bus, but the trunk of a car would be no problem.
Purchasing:
Bryan was prompt in his email response and once the order was finalized got the products to me quickly.
Overall, I'm very happy with the bags and foam. It's great having my Blood Angels in a giant red bag! I'm already planning my future foam orders for my Tau and Nids.

@Rotonia - WOW! I'd been wondering if you were going to chime in. Looks even better the way you presented them. I like the comparison to all the different cases. Thanks again, the project was a lot of fun to work on. Thanks for the chance.
@Rabidaskal - I do ship international. Currently I am charging $25 shipping for outside the US and Canada. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

I wondered the same thing, but I looked around and I found an estimate shipping button at the checkout. [ooo ninja'd!] Nice range of coulours as well, been looking for a decent plain black bag for a while. Colour me interested. The critisism of the store seemed pretty harsh to me. I'm a complete Luddite and I managed to find my way about okay. I would be interested in seeing more independent reviews and ask Bryan if he has a distributor this side of the pond. I like to have a look in person before buying items such as this.

@notprop - I don't have a lot of "independent" reviews as I have sold most of them locally in Arizona. A few were sent to some stores that have worked with me, but I am not sure if any of their players are active here.
As for a distributor on the Euro side of the pond, sadly I do not have one. Heck I don't even have one here in the US yet. Working on it though.
I do have a customer who is doing a study abroad in Nottingham. I'll see if I can get you two in touch with each other.

Cole from Gamers’ Inn here.
I carry all of the outrider hobbies range. The stuff is fantastic and just works. Plane and simple.
I personally have picked up 2 of his bags and the amount I can fit in them borders on the insane. The entire Menoth army range fits in one while another holds about 4500 in chaos Deamons. I mailed one of the bags complete with army, and it survived intact, not even daughters of the flame suffered. It has also been stowed as cargo on a passenger flight and wreathed the traumas easily.
You should be warned, the amount of pewter you can get inside these bags makes them a great work out before a game.
