I'm not a particularly brillant converter, but I wanted my Inquisitorial Chimera to stand-out a bit from the pack. Basically, I wanted people to be able to tell just by looking at it that someone important is inside I went with a hammerhead-style turret, and I plan to build plasticard cowlings around the exposed weapons mounts. I used a FW Tarantula sentry gun as the base.

Lots of stuff still to do: comms antennae, Inquisitor bling, etc. I might build some auxiliary fuel tanks over the treads towards the rear of the vehicle. I'm looking for any and all suggestions!

definitely cool. i've seen a fair amount of the bradley/stryker type chimeras where the turret is in the back half but never that style. good job.

That looks really nice. The only thing thats a bit weird is the lack of ammo feed for the heavy stubber. Can you whomp something up to look like afeed is coming from the turret? or even just stick the amoo box on the side.

Also isn't it a Falcon look, rather than a Hammerhead?

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Thanks for the comments, fellas. I didn't have time to work on the Chimera today, but I'll be updating some pics of it early this week as I get more work done.

Yeah, there will definitely be a feed for the heavy stubber. Depending uopn how I work the gun shroud, it will either be a linkless-type feed or box-fed.

"Hammerhead" is sorta military jargon and refers to the dual weapons mount, not the Tau vehicle of the same name.

That's simple, but really effective. I seldom see conversions that look so natural, but I like your minimalist work. It also isn't drastically different in size than a standard Chimera turret, so it doesn't look out of place.

How you gonna paint it?

Thanks! The weapons are just tacked-on right now, so some of the minimalist look might fade as I develop the turret a bit more.

Good question! The Rhinos I have for my ISTs are black with red accents, so I was planning on reversing that scheme. I'll be using this thread for feedback until the project is completely finished, and I'll post pics of my Rhinos for comparison as I get into painting.

I think you should put plasticard over that gaping hole on the back side of the multi-laser.

Other than that it is awesome.

Aren't there Rhino Inquisition upgrade packs at FW?!?

They could help it stand out!

How are you fitting the turret in? It is an ace looking model and I would love to see it beside some normal chimeras.

Wow ,that just looks awsome!

fo the stauper ammo feed you may want some sort of wrap around ammo feed tha ends on the turrets side or top.

Nice! I play Inquisition Guard too, and I'm liking that quite a bit! All of my Chimeras use the Predator autocannon turret with a dowel rod glued on the underneath side of the turret. It's one heck of alot cheaper than FW, and looks beefier too.

Great job! Can't wait to see it painted up and finished.
