In this big pile of scheeming and plasticarding and greenstuffing about various things, I thought I'd throw out a couple pictures of a side-side project I did last weekend. Basically, I needed a couple of regular lasgun dudes to replace some grenade launcher guys. As this was a quick, easy, and necessary upgrade I didn't mind the side tracking.

These guys are done up in my standard way. Helmet shaved down with hair and ears GSed on, while the lasgun is chopped down a bit.

After conversion:

And painted:

Regular line dudes don't get a lot of lovin' on the painting forum so I just thought I'd share.

Now back to GSing my ogryn...

Those are brilliant!! But I must admit to being biased: the guy on the right has the same facial hair as me.

You green stuffed yourself a beard? AWSOME....post pics.

Seriously now.

To the OP, you did a really good job man. I think sometimes its the little things that just keep adding up that make an army look cool. Things like this.

Ikasarete Iru

Graffiti from Pompeii: VIII.2 (in the basilica); 1882: The one who buggers a fire burns his penis

Xenophanes: "If horses had Gods, they would look like horses!"

Thanks! My army is predominantly done up like this, but, being a infantry horde commander, a lot of the detail is lost in wide-pan mass charges like this:

So, as you note, my dudes don't have white skin. As such, there have been several different ethnicities I've occasionally created. Most of them look generically caucasian (so turkic, or just a tan white guy), but some of them have looked distinctly spanish, Like the gunner and one of the sword guys in this picture

I had come to the shocking realization that I had yet to give any of my guardsmen a "frenchie". This was as such quickly rectified. I'm thinking of giving one to my bone 'ead that I'm working on.

Also, I just realized that I've got in the one picture a goatee and mutton chops. Did anyone else see "mom and dad save the world"?

"Mutton chops, m'lord?"

With Lovitz?? Of course!

May I suggest a handlebar for the bone'ead or one of those impressive waxed affairs old-time muscle men wore?

Your face painting is to be envied.

Hey nice minis as usual Ailaros!! I once spent a few hours crawling through your blog, your IG army's pretty nice!!!

As for the quote above, what's a "Frenchie"? (I'm French, that's why I'm asking )

What do you think, Goatee.... or mutton chops?

Mutton chops, m'lord?

Wrong. Shoot yourself in the head. What about you?

Mutton chops!

And yeah, I'm trying to decide on the outrageous facial hair for my ogryn. I think I'm going to make my bone 'ead with shorter hair (and long on the top, a la german style), which sort of precludes chops on him. The other one I'm working on is getting a raj imperial.

The moustache with the tiny beard... you know, a frenchie...
