There seems to be an increasing use of the Top Rank/Barclay's Bank word on Dakka.
Sort of okay with that, and am sure kids hear much worse in the playground.
However, we do get younger members, and also I sometimes find it helpful to show our library kids things on Dakka. The youngest are 8 to 10 year olds.
Am a tad surprised it doesn't get filtered out, and would be grateful if the mods might consider adding it to the list. I am not wanting to get embarrassed by one of them asking me what it means.
Nor have to explain that it is something that will make you go blind etc
I know this may not seem very much to a lot of members but could you please not use the W and anchor word.
lol Correct but sorry no prizes Monster!

Thought about it but don't want to scare the horses or make the ladies blush. Or was it the otherway round?
I'm not posting on the bloody Mothercare forum or Toys R Us.com, this is a forum about wargames.
Have you seen this btw? How would you explain this to the 8 year old?:
Or any number of images of Imperial Guardsmen getting squished, mutilated, shot, hacked or impaled?
I don't come here to temper my words to a primary school aged child suitable level. I expect to deal with teens here but that's where I draw the line. spank or spanker isn't a serious swear word.
So with the greatest respect, because I like you as a poster, no.
I rather like the way that the Dakka nanny filter doesn't pick up on British slang. Oddly enough, I don't require a Mary Whitehouse-esque computer to tell me which words are acceptable and I'd be glad to see the back of Dakka's.
Chibi, kindly keep strum, you're spoiling it for the rest of us.
Its hard to be awesome, when your playing with little plastic men. Welcome to Fantasy 40k
If you think your important, in the great scheme of things. Do the water test.
Put your hands in a bucket of warm water,
then pull them out fast. The size of the hole shows how important you are.
I think we should roll some dice, to see if we should roll some dice, To decide if all this dice rolling is good for the game.
It also should go without saying that swearing, profanity, sexual references, etc, are strictly forbidden, including all images that are posted on or uploaded to our site. Remember that we have users of all ages and that Dakka should be a welcoming place for everyone to enjoy.

At least I'm not Northern...
I consider you an honorary Northerner. You certainly don't strike me as a shandy-drinking poofter, put it that way!
Automatically Appended Next Post: Chibi, to be fair I can't see a set of circumstances whereby you'd need to show 8-yr olds the Off-Topic Forum of a wargaming website. Unless it's as some sort of cautionary lesson on how not to live one's life, of course.
And let's face it, it's only here that you will encounter the word 'spank'. It's not like people in the Painting and Modelling section are going 'Oh wow, that Daemon Prince of Nurgle is so friggin' awesome I simply MUST go and have a nice long spank!' are they?
