Now, obviously Tallarn would be more suited to the desert theme, but Cadians must fight on desert worlds too, right? So, I was thinking it would be rather interesting to see my plethora of Chimeras and whatnots painted like the old SAS Land Rovers.

Like that, basically - not pink, but "Desert Pink", which is red and grey mixed together, from what I recall from various historical things I have read.

Thoughts? Any ideas on how to mix this will GW and/or Vallejo paints?

If I do this, I fully plan on making a tiny elephant the unit logo and buying these dice for kicks:

Bit of a salmon pink innit?

I think it would be an interesting army to behold. I'd do up a squad and see how it works before committing to a whole army. If it does well, I might adapt this as well, as I'd like to make a platoon or so of guys representing PDF fighters from Atesh.

Another way would be to simply slide the landraider sideways like a big slowed hovercraft full of eels. -pismakron

That was what I was thinking, actually. I have about 5000pt worth of Guard to paint, so if this looks good, it will be a hell of a blog. Maybe next week, if I can find a few minutes, I will do a test model. I think Codex Grey + Mechrite Red is the way to go, but I will see how other colors interact. Blood Red may be too pink, while Battlegrey may be too dark. Not sure.

Anyone have any info handy about making decals? I would love to have those elephants in decal form. Do I need a special printer? Paper?
