Busy somewhere, airin' out the skin jobs.

Anyone wanna start a pool on how long it takes some Hollywood douchebag to get the jump on everyone and attempt to cash in on the miner's hardship by wanting to make a movie....before the dust even settles.

You KNOW its going to happen.

More seriously..
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/southamerica/chile/8054069/Chilean-miners-draw-up-contract-to-share-proceeds-of-story.html

We have received offers to be filmed and interviewed by national television," Yonni Barrios, 50, wrote in the letter sent up to the surface last week. "But we didn't accept because we are going to form a foundation and all our daily experiences during our time down here will go into a book and other projects."

He informed his wife that the men had requested a lawyer visit the San Jose mine and send down the paperwork to make such an agreement legally binding.

"We want to make this legal then everything that will come out from us will be negotiated for the future.

"If we do this properly we won't have to work for the rest of our lives."

Good luck to'em anyway. Hell of a thing to go through.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all

Vow of Silence!

A tale of the human condition.

The fictional account of what happened when 40 men were trapped in a mine with no hope of rescue for over 2 weeks.

But wait! There were 33 miners in Chile. Ah, there were 33 miners rescued. 33 well fed miners. 7 delicious miners were never recovered, after the bodies of the recently deceased were already exhumed and consumed.

Shame that is becoming a bit of political feeding frenzy now. I get the distinct impression that the Chilean government are rubbing their hands in glee at anticipating being able to milk this for their own purposes.

It's a great story and could make a good film. That's kind of the fuel the film industry runs on. Doesn't make them douchebags.

Well, yes. I mean, when did the first 9/11 films start coming out? I would probably check a film about this incident out. If it was on telly.

That said, I haven't been watching the news reports!

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

Alb, don't bother. The mother-in-law and Mrs have had it on and its all about the media circus now.

Sky news are currently reporting on what the other media outlets are doing. Documenting the media feeding frenzy that they have helped to create. Typical self agrandising that we have for news these days. Iam just waiting for the hour long commentated helicopter footage of ambulances being driven to hospitals ala princes di (gawd bless 'er)

The President and 1st lady of Chile is glad handing every miner that comes out almost before the families get a hug. I'm happy for the fellers but its looking a little stage managed.

8 of the 33 miners are gay? Hopefully they're not being bullied or discriminated against by the military.
