Hi all!
I'm beginning a new line of miniatures. Landsknechts in 40mm scale.
Here I posted some sketches for first 5 figures:

Really nice and quite accurate, too (waistline feels like it could be a tad higher but is still within the acceptable parameter). Me likes.

Don't worry, he's a medieval gansta, right?

But yeah, that is one nice model.

Nice but he needs a Katzbalger as they all carried them.

Must it exist for a reason other than being extremely pleasant to look at?

I can add him a Katzbalger at any time
I think, those miniatures are adjective for 40mm wargaming, aren't they?..

These remind me of the old WHFB Empire plastics, and are about 100x better than the crap they currently have. Serious props.

I like the second guy as well but one thing is to note. The trouser seams at the back of the leg are nearly parallel to each other where they end at the waist. This is not really appropriate to all the pictoral sources I know. In all the sources I know (which is quite some now) the ends of the seams form a triangle with the tip of the triangle at the waistline. Never parallel. If you would have a source that shows that I would be very curious to see (one never stops learning and there is still so much more to see). A minor detail most people won´t notice but imho that would improve the figure considerable without being too much work (if I am correct that is). And I think the sagging of his trouser on his left knee would need a binding like you have done on the right knee. It would not stay this up way in reality. It is not in the concept scetch so I thought I mention it.

@ Katzbalger for the first. True, I didn´t notice that but a smaller sidearm like a dagger, Langes Messer or Katzbalger would be a sensible addition.

@ What is your source for the notion of "Scheissepanzer"? I haven´t heard that before and am curious about its origins as well.

You maybe could think about varying the design of the codpiece a little. There were so many different and interesting styles. The phallic ones might not sell so well though. ^^ If you need inspiration on those, look at the Triumph of Maximilian. It is online somewhere if you don´t know already. And a little more variation on the headwear might be worth looking into as well. On a sidenotice I am planning on doing a Faltenrock (less elaborate though) like the officer is wearing as we speak.

All in all keep up the great work. I saw the other offerings in other scales you have and might get some in the future.

Amazing work, so too are your Spaniards. Nice race driver too, might have to buy one to make a Stig model.

You're welcome.

Cool, the third picture from above actually indeed has the seams parallel to each other and not ending in a triangle. That was new to me. Thanks for that! The other pictures show what I mean though. So you depicted the exception rather then the norm, but I think that's fine here.

But I noticed something else in the painted minature. Although the parallel seams are perfectly fine obviously, the miniature is missing the middle seam (the buttcrack seam^^) that actually joins the two legs of the trousers together. You absolutely need to add that as you cannot construct a hose without this seam. I didn't comment on that before as I assumed you would add it as it is such a basic thing. And you didn't add the binding on the other knee. The painting also shows that the jacket/Wams seems to go down to the hips. That is the wrong geometry unless you have another source that depicts it that way (always goes to the waist, with only a little leeway downwards, never on the hips!). So still a nice figure but with some flaws (seen historically) unfortunately. Sorry to be so critical but those minis have so much potential that it is a pity to have them have flaws that are easily avoided.

Well, Curnow seems to think otherwise. ;-)

Very nice, no gripes about this one. I´d probably made the shaft of the spear slightly thicker but that´s really minor and more seen from a gamer/durability perspective. And easily changed by using a thicker wire shaft replacement.

How about making the spear head as a separate piece and letting the end user add a wire spear shaft?

These are great. You could also do a 28mm scale version of your range as well I think... some people might find a use for them...
