Considering voting is only accelerating the problem of dividing the country, the government and it's people; I find it absurd that people are blindly doing so.
The united states of America is far from united right now. Wake me up so I can vote seriously when we are fully united.

Yup, I voted. I don't think it will do much good though. In todays day and age, you don't get to choose between good choices, you only get to chose the lesser of two evils :/

Sorry, what I mean is the house and senate are divided by party affiliation and the people are divided by their parties and to a lesser (or greater extent) the news they watch.
People aren't working together due to this, in fact the whole reason the majority for the house and senate matter is because if there is a decent majority, a bill can actually get passed without getting destroyed by inter-politics.
The party mindset and people making decisions solely on this is causing issues. This includes the fact that politicians will flip flop their stances on issues to suit the issues in the party and the news.
As a whole having parties should be fine, but at this point people are attacking each other based on their party, and this should be unacceptable.
I'm sorry I didn't elaborate beforehand.

I was unable to vote, as I'm not quite officially living in any state, due to my current position vis a vis the Department of Motor Vehicles and their guidelines regarding vehicle registration and California State Sales Tax. It's a long story.
Anyway, the state that I actually care about(New Hampshire) turned out exactly the way I would have hoped.

With a divided government that will not work together in the slightest it seems, nor will the common person see the lies of news organizations for what they are, how can anyone expect anything but the same old bickering to occur?
I know people are different, I know they all have different goals, ideals and such. Yet it doesn't matter. Congress and the senate are not united, they are split. The only way to get anything through either it seems is to have a vast majority. Do you not see what the huge problem is with this?
I'm not saying something as simple as your counter argument, I'm saying there is no unity. People work for and towards their party, and nothing else.

I voted. I didn't get a sticker though, because I voted in the evening and they ran out of them at my polling place.
To a certain extent I understand why some people believe that voting doesn't change anything, or that their single vote won't have an effect on large elections, like presidential elections and such, or even gubernatorial elections. That said, a lot can change on the local level, and individuals certainly do make an impact in local elections. Even if you don't think your vote matters on a national scale, it seems to me that it'd be worth it to vote at least for the sake of the local candidates on the ballot, especially considering local policies are likely to have a more direct effect on you anyway. An added plus is that it is reasonably possible to have less corrupt options on the ballot at the local level.
