Et In Arcadia Ego

Hi there,
In this Newsletter we have the first addition to our Eldar range of resin kits and upgrade sets available to pre-order, news of some more detailed Etched Brass and Transfer sheets that are also up for pre-order, an update on our Christmas shipping deadlines, and details of the Wishlist function on the Forge World website.
We’ve also got a reminder about the very last show that we’ll be attending this year – the IPMS Scale ModelWorld event which takes place on the 13th and 14th of November.
Thanks,
Ead Brown
Eldar Hornet Available to Pre-Order Now
The Eldar Hornet, designed by Daren Parrwood, is a brand-new addition to the Eldar range. One of several new Eldar units that will feature in the forthcoming Imperial Armour Volume 11, this complete resin kit may be armed with a full range of Eldar weaponry and is supplied with two resin Pulse Lasers, and a plastic Eldar heavy weapon sprue, to allow you to refine its potent weaponry to a specific battlefield role.
The Hornet is a light tank employed by Eldar armoured forces in a fast reconnaissance and raiding role. Piloted by a single crewman, it can be found in the forefront of Eldar aspect warrior assault waves, speeding ahead of heavier Falcons and Wave Serpents and often operating alongside other high-speed attack craft such as jetbikes and Vypers.
The Eldar Hornet is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing the 29th of November. Imperial Armour writer Warwick Kinrade has put together a set of experimental rules for the Hornet which can be downloaded for free here.
Raptors Transfer Sheet
Masters of stealth and ambush, the Raptors play a major role in the Badab War and this new A4 transfer sheet, designed by Paul Rudge, is packed with over 150 Chapter symbols, squad markings and vehicle identifiers.
These decals, along with our existing Raptors Terminator Shoulder Pads, Rhino Doors and Land Raider Door sets, allow Raptors players to add unique character and detail to their armies.
This fantastic new decal sheet is available to pre-order now and will be despatched in the week commencing the 29th of November
Etched Brass Sheets:
The latest additions to our range of detailed Etched Brass symbols are these fantastic sets of Iron Hands and Imperial/Crimson Fists icons and Ork Glyphs from the talented hands of Graphic Artist Kenton Mills.
The Iron Hands and Imperial/Crimson Fists frames are packed with intricate symbols, Chapter and Company markings, scrollwork and Imperial Aquilae that can be used to decorate your Space Marine vehicles and infantry, as you can see in the images on the Forge World website
The Ork Glyphs frame provides a huge range of Ork pictograms with which to embellish the vehicles, armour and banners of your Clans to suitably insult your foes. The Ork sheet also contains a chequy pattern on the frame itself that you can trim into smaller sections and add to almost any model in the Ork range.
Each of these Etched Brass sheets is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing the 29th of November.

I rather like the Eldar Hornet's proposed rules, especially when compared to War Walkers. 60 points for dual scatter laser war walker, 75 for the Hornet with same weapons. You trade Scout for a fast skimmer, AV11, Closed-Top and Star Engines for 25 points more? Shows up in the Fast Attack slot so it doesn't use up a Fire Prism selection? Sounds good to me!

Trade Scout? Looks like it has the scout rule. A good flat out in the scout phase and shooting nothing but rear armour on turn 1( if you have first turn). I don't get the star engines thing. Not a troop transport so can't claim objectives only use those engines to get across the board in a hurry to contest. I do like the armour 11. I would definitely switch out my vypers for these though still keep them cheap with SCs.

Raven Guard Terminator pads are gonna be a looooooooong way off, if they ever materialize(no pun intended).
Simple fact: Terminators? They're not something you'd really consider a "signature" unit of the Raven Guard. When one thinks RG, they think Scouts, Tacticals, Drop Pods, etc.

Personally I am psyched about the Iron Hands Brass. I have just started the chapter, at what seems like a pretty killer time. I just hope they don't roll out FW iron hands pads and bits after completion.
I need to research what to do with Brass. Anyone know any good treahs on how to use it?

I hope the Hornet makes it to the next codex. It looks nice and has a lot of potential in the Fast attack slot.

But...they're....SUPPOSED TO!
They have technology so advanced that the Imperium can only consider magic and witchcraft. Is inventing an auto-tracker really beyond their capabilities? The Tau can do it and they're the galactic equivalent of a spunky teenager. Automatically Appended Next Post: Plus, the things they're shooting at? In the case of the Imperium, functionally identical to a barn door. Size and shape.

Prophecy07 wrote:The Eldar are ancient and masters of every path. Why can some upstart roided up human shoot more accurately than them?
Perhaps because they want to prepare us for the Star Eagles Aspect Warriors to pilot vehicles in the next Eldar Codex in 2020 (After Codex: Blue Roided Humans II).
Either way, that's always been a complaint of Eldar Players. Essentially the reasoning is that Eldar Guardians pilot vehicles at their BS3. Their fancy targeting systems are reserved for Fire Prisms' BS4.

Yes and no.
Temrinators make perfect sense for a First Founding Chapter that has its own Forge World.

I'd agree that the "need" for Terminator pads isn't really that high priority for FW, but still after seeing what they did with the MVI Raven Guard armour (espcially the shoulder pads) it'd be nice to get some Terminator "love".
I think in a perfect world they'd do a Raven Guard kit similar to the Space Wolf Terminator Armour kit, IE: body + pads......
Anyways... this conversation is for another thread, go go Raptors

Uh, first off...
The 10th Company, being the Scout Company, is very likely an exception to the normal rule of "Independent Companies" and interaction with other companies in the Raven Guard. It makes more sense to dole out the Scouts piecemeal when they're needed rather than committing them all at once as a Company under Korvydae/Master of Recruits.
And it furthermore makes sense when persecuting a guerilla warfare operation to have someone who's renowned for that kind of warfare to be put in charge rather than someone else.
It's quite likely also that if the Raven Guard were to field Terminator equipped Battle-Brothers, they'd actually have the veteran members of the normal Companies suit up in Terminator Armor for the operations.
Alpharius wrote:

So lovable!
Sorry?
That was my way of saying "even if they are well-equipped, they didn't field them even when it hit the fan on Kastorel-Novem, instead relying upon Thunderhawks and rapid reinsertion/mobilization of Scout/Tactical Squads when a few well-placed Terminator teleport assaults would have broken the Ork's backs". Which kind of went along with my whole point of "People don't think of Terminators when they think Raven Guard", which is probably why we're not seeing Terminator pads for the Raven Guard.

That would be awesome.
I agree, though. I don't like that it looks like they took the standard Eldar chassis and just hacked at it, rather than making a "new" skimmer. I particularly don't like the little stabilizer flaps on the rear end of the front arcs. They look like they're just begging to snap off when caught on something.

I do like the hornet, gives the image of a fast little bugger zipping up the enemy lines to get a good look and buzzing away at first contact. Agreed it looks like something is missing as there looks like gaps in the design. As Kirbinator said, yeah the flaps just don't do anything for it, would look better without them probably.

Now if only they'd do a set of etched brass with none of those Iron Hands symbols, but more AdMech symbols! And the Hornet is great. The rules are actually good, but then again the law of averages has to give FW one good ruleset every now and again. Also, having 'Lexandro' as one of the names on the Imperial Fist etched brass is a nice touch.
