Hey all, so I thought to myself sometime last week, "I need a project" and I considered restarting my Kroot necromunda gang. But, being lazy, I decided that painting miniatures would get boring very quickly, so I instead decided to restart a miniature that I gave up on. What can I say? It just required far to much pinning. Anyways, So after finding all the pieces, I decided to give it another go. I want it to ooze with character, and for this reason, I took inspiration from several pictures, such as:

Hope that link works.

Anyway, these are my currant pictures I have of the miniature, tell me what you think.

The base. Im still pondering whether or not it could have a bit more detail.

The 'mouse'. I still need to do a bit of work on him, but my currant worry is one arm might be longer than the other.

The 'mouse' in hiding. I plan to try and paint the pupils on this miniature. Hopefully choosing a gormless wide eyed zombie head will help.

"Hey buddy what ya looking up at?"

"Oh."

That's the lictor. He's still veery WIP, and annoyingly fiddly. So far 4 pins. Lets see if that doesn't double by the time he's finished.

From another angle.

I apologise, that's a god awful picture. I'll try and get a better one as soon as the camera's charged up.

Comedy shot.

And tragically, it turns out that the desperate scared character hiding at the bottom, with a slight twist of the arms, becomes a vacant faced zombie.

Braaaiiinns!

Thanks for looking!

Edit: Darn pictures.

Fantastic work! The base could have some rubble and barbed wire if you wanted to add some more detail. Good luck with getting the lictor to stay together, that guy always breaks on me!

Another update? From me? On the same day?!

So as I promised, I took another picture to compensate for the original, and have also taken an additional beauty shot of the Lictor.

There we go.

Hope you like. As for the modelling front, i'm just waiting for the modelling putty to cure. Who knows, you might even get a third update today!

So another week goes by, and some more progress. Firstly, however, I am going to apologise for the following post. I don't know about you guys, but what mildly perturbs me is when someone posts up progress about their miniatures, but then proceeds to show no pictures. It also means people cannot really comment on the update.

It just kinda ticks me off, which is why im being hugely hypocritical.

See, I have done a bit on my miniature (not as much as I hoped, hectic week is hectic) and I was really looking forward to showing you. However, it got dark, and I got distracted, and now, well now without natural lighting I fear the pictures will be of terrible quality. So instead of saying to you what I've done to the miniatures, I instead decided to post up an apology.

I'll endeavour to take some snaps if I can find some light that isn't yellow tinted and gak.

What a fantastic mouse! He looks great, the zombie bits fit perfectly. GS some hair and the head will be perfect... or paint a shaved head. The lictor is looking awesome, too. Poised to strike, enjoying the sent of fear in the air.

If you're still worried about the one arm being longer, I would say cheat it with the shoulder pad. They give a good amount of leeway as far as where the joint really is. It doesn't look like much of a problem from here, though.

I'd say the biggest piece missing is the back of the wall. I feel like there should be a high floor on the back, high enough that the mouse could be looking down at himself through the broken window. It will give more weight to the back of the piece and allow for some fun details, like another mouse hiding in the basement.

Another mouse you say?! Interesting idea.

I had another idea originally, in which there would be a pair of soldiers, one of which would not have noticed the lictor perched so sneakily upon the ruin. As I thought about it, it seemed that the miniature would be a bit crowded. Im not sure, I'll fiddle with the poses a bit, and try to see what I can come out with.

@Viktor - It's a bit of a cheap n' nasty camera, so I don't think so. I'll have a mosey though!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
So I fiddled with the camera, aaaand, well it's still yellow, but they are at least viewable. Incidently, If I ever wanna take pics in sepia, I know what to do

Our Mouse is pretty much done now. I thought about adding hair, but after some attempts two things became clear.

1. Giving an already large zombie head hair makes this guy look like the elephant man.

2. Im dogshite terrible at sculpting hair.

Never fear though, as I was sculpting hair I mercilessly sliced one of his ears off. So, knowing my limits with sculpting, instead of another ear, he's now got a small metal plate on the side.

Again, I apologise for the quality, and I will take better pictures in the morning.

Here's a close up of his torn sleeve. Might be a bit unclear.

Right now onto a bit of self justification. Essentially, as im sure all you lovely guys n' gals have noticed, my Lictor has been based of a Venomthrope miniature. And, as you may well know, the Venomthrope also has it's back covered in large gruesome flesh sacks. It suited it, as they were supposed to keep it's hug body in the air. Now, the Lictor doesn't need them, but I doubt I would have been able to carve them off without injury or irreversible damage to the mini. So what to do?

Well, it occurred to me that this Lictor (Which will become death leaper I'm sure) is a lot larger, and a great deal more gribbly than the average tentacle faced stalker. And it occurred to me that perhaps something of it's size, to be able to keep up with it's thinner and more agile kin, it would need to be being pumped constantly with adrenalin. So, the giant flesh sacks became giant adrenal glands.

Yes, I give you the Lictor on 'roids.

some tubing required, as is always the way.

So, here's my weeks progress. I'm pretty pleased, but slightly sad that the pictures were so poor. Better next time eh?

Thanks for looking.

I don't know how, perhaps with a yellow wash, but could the IG have a pee stain...when you get around to painting.

Sorry that isn't particularly helpful to your current scuplting - which looks great.
