Hi everyone, I am new to the forum.

I have a love for Orks because their vehicles have so many possibilities, Green skin is awesome to paint, and the modelling kits have endless configurations.

I picked Death Skulls because I liked the face paint aspect. I think they have a good mixture of fluff in books and on the internet which led me to make this army.

I will be making some hobby articles soon, so if your interested, stay tuned. I am also running a competition which I need some advice on. The aim is to encourage poetry about Orks and the winner gets a painted prize from me.

Here are the Deff Skullz

If you like the pictures I am also do an audio commentary on 15 videos here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyuqs0mKNsc&feature=BF&playnext=1&list=QL

I hope you like my work. I am currently working on selling my armies focusing on Orks, Imperial Gaurd and Traitor Gaurd.
I am looking to make connections with other painters/people experienced with websites/plastic mould injection/writers - pretty much everything
Finally I am looking at running monthly competitions, encouraging creativity - to win painted stuff which I'll make hobby articles out of. Right now I am asking people for Orky poems about Death Skulls. If someone has some suggestions for this to help me get the word out let me know,
You can mail me at arachne.begg@gmail.com

Thanks for looking

Ive always liked the death skulls, something about the blue and green going together looks right ot me. I relaly like the weathering on your army, very impressive to see a 2k army fully completed, great work!

4250 points of Blood Angels goodness, sweet and silky W12-L6-D4
1000 points of Teil-Shan (my own scheme) Eldar Craftworld in progress
800 points of unassembled Urban themed Imperial Guard
650 points of my do-it-yourself Tempest Guard
675 points of Commoraghs finest!

The Dude - "Jackie Treehorn treats objects like women, man."

Lord Helmet - "I bet she gives great helmet."

Oh god its beautiful o_o the pastel blue and dusty cream white goes directly in contrast with the rusted parts. What are your steps to painting them ( including the weathering )
Completely intimidates me to even bother continue painting my orks T-T

@ element206

Yea the green and blue go together well, their next to each other on the colour wheel too so bring out each other well.

@ Lunahound

Thats right the light colours allow the weathering to show up and you get some contrast with the blue and orange.
I am in the process of making hobby articles. The steps I took precisely are many and instead of writing them(which will probably be misinterpreted anyway) - I would prefer to write a whole new topic on them all together.

Taking pictures of each steps and a proper walk through, maybe some youtube coverage. I want to encourage people to explore these principles and techniques so they can do it themselves and feel confident they are holding their "own colours"

@ Jungle fear

Thanks I really wanted these guys to have a home. There is fluff somewhere talking about how after rushin the killy part, n after gettin the loot - there is a big scrap back at the base.

The idea of a Looted base came up, with a Big Mek who has his own operatin table whacking away at a deff strike missile with a spanner.

@ Luna Hound

There are different ways to paint Goff orks! So dont give up on them.
It's inspiration and excitement that helps get articles on the way for me as it gives everythin impetus.

I think I am going to make a blog first so that all these hobby teaching articles are "rooted somewhere" so other people can benefit.
This way I can refine the articles, add more bits, remove bad parts - that kind of stuff.

At the moment I am learning to use an airbrush as there is a stompa which goes with this army who is going to be my first teszt Subjekt *puts on mek goggles*

PS I noticed you have written quite a poetic sig, I am running a poetry competition at the moment. Where would be a good place to post it on dakka dakka?

Normally none war gaming related topics are made in the "Off Topic" section. But since its light on rules sometimes it gets random and chaotic.
However , if im guessing prize is involved and actually gets the whole Dakka community involved , then... im guessing "Dakka Discussion" if poetry is related to warhammer.

Can always ask yakface , i believe he owns this forum :3

Personally I'm not a fan of blood & gore on weapons but with an army that looks this beautiful and stunning what does it matter. I look forward to seeing the stompa and your painting tutorials.

Nice idea on the ork poetry comp. I won't enter myself but I can't wait to read some of the entires, when you decided where your going to post it make sure to give us the link.

This is by far the best Deff Skulls. I play a mixed ork clan army, and your orks are by far much better. I love the weathering. I would love to see a tutorial on how you paint your Deff Skulls. Keep it up!

Wow! I love them! The brightness of the blue stands out perfectly against the green skin.

And they match your background! (Is that a shower curtain? )

Best looking ork skin I have ever seen.
Not just the painting itself, but the way the blue doesnt make orks look so repetitive. <3 it

Thankyou for such supportive comments I feel very inspired to work even harder!

I will be doing full tutorials on everything beginning on the basics and going through the NMM.

The thing is I would rather spend a week working on the tutorials, so after this competition and the models I am working on now I will get to that.

@Bangbangboom - I am just waiting on confirmation from the admins about the poetry competition, it sounds like it should be alright. Thanks alot for the compliment, the army does have a flare about it.

@Kamikaze guy - Thanks the weathering is fun & not that difficult but there are the host of other steps for it to work properly. I'll be sure to go through them all when I dont have so much on. I need to make a little website first / or blog - to have somewhere to find the tutorials them.

@Gohokies - Cheers man, Vehicles are one of my favourites , gotta say.

@ Draglide12 - Yea the Terran splits into two, a kind of forward command post and a mek bay for repairing and making stuff. You can make the base whole and put the "DEFF STRIKE" inside.

@ Lunarghost - green and blue is a nice touch, makes it colourful and adds a whole new variation of colour to the army. I am not sure if that is possible with Goffs are their color scheme is more limited, but I think there is alot to achieve with Red,Black,White and Orange for Goffs.

@ Gregx999 - Thankyou! The blue and yellow/green are complimentary colors with red violet and orange.

@ Arakasi - Thankyou. I am looking forward to getting down to them too but I spent too long on forums tommorow so today is constructing and finishing my Goffs and prepping them for paint.

Ok Guys. Anyone wishing to try their creative writing we have a poetry competition in my sig!
I have 2 entrants so far.
Hope to see you
