Under 3.5 they were Doom Sirens. Under the current rule set they are just decoration. I soooooo miss the flavor that the 3.5 codex brought to the table.

Looks good. Too bad I'll never be able to use it. If its not offical GW stuff, no one around here will want to play against it. Thats how I took it, as a compliment. Since my noise marines can't actually make noise, I painted them in loud colors. The over all effect is actually really good as I have gotten loads of compliments from those who have seen them in person.

It's a rather 'random' color scheme, but he pulled it off perfectly. No way I could get highlights like that on the defiler! They're basically perfect

Surprise is an insubstantial blade, a sword worthless in war.
It breakes when troops rally. It snaps when commanders holt the line.
But fear never fades.
Fear is a blade that sharpens with use.
So let the enemy know we come. Let their fears defeat them as everything falls dark.
At the world´s sun set.....
As the city is wreathed in its final night.....
Let ten thousand howls promise ten thousand claws.
The Night Lords are coming.
And no soul that stands against us shall see another dawn!

This is my favorite model in the entire game. It started life as a loyalist plastic dreadnought, the shoulder mounted arms got some nurgling treatment, and did the smoke launcher replaced by other nurglings. The leg guards are acutally made from a spare extra armor bit from a defiler kit, heated up and some green stuff to add to the raised area to keep it consistent looking.
BTW How do you reduce the size of the images? I had them orginally posted at half this size on two, but when I put up the right hand view of the dreadnought all the images when supersize again. I've reduced the pixils from about 3000 x 3000 to about 450 x 450.

Wow. I'm in awe of the orignial and reposts above.
But I am undanted! Someone has to follow those unnaturally amazing peices, so I'm throwing in not one, not two, but THREE of my favorite dreads.
Dread #1 is a World Eater WIP that was slapped together at the last moment for a 5,000 pt (per side) absolutely insane tarpit of a 40K game of my Chaos legion vs. my friends Hive Fleet. The model is the old Furioso Space Marine Dreadnought with a Warmachine buzzsaw for a close combat weapon and a heavy flamer under the other power claw. Yes, I know the nozzle for the flamer sticks out too far... I haven't modeled the claws out yet.
Dread #2 is also from that same game but was completed before we started playing. It is a Death Guard Dreadnought using the standard Chaos model with the missile launcher from the old Dark Angels Dreadnought. This model is finished.
Dread #3 is another Furioso Dreadnought with a old plastic Plasma cannon fitted over the assault cannon and wires added for the effect. I put this model together in '96 or '97 when I was first trying out CSM and created my own chapter from Mk VI Marines. All hail the Dark Lords! I am going to put a new base on it but other than that is is as finished as it is going to get. I've included 2 pics of this one because I really like it.

Your link is broken... though I saw them in your gallery, they look very nice.
To be honest comparing an Elite walker to Jump Infantry troops doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. They both have their place.
But anyway, they do look really nice.
