Bold emphasis mine. With Paypal you MAY NOT get your money back all the time. The only true way of getting your money back everytime is using a credit card, and if you fail to get your item; file a claim with your credit card company. Paypal will only refund your money if funds are available in the person's account you file the claim against. I'm sure other users on the forum could elaborate more poignantly on this topic than I.
Bolded is mine.
I know that's not true beacuse I've had this happen to me on EBay before. The guy actually took all the money out his his account and Paypal pulled money from the account forcing him negative and he got NSF'ed by his bank. Although, you are right, CC is best because they don't care who or why they have to refund people since the do so much of it.
This whole thing is getting wildy off topic.
There are ways to protect your purchases. Use them.
I'm sure I'll get flamed, but whatever. I don't know them personally. I'm not defending their past. All the information is out there, use it as you will. If you want to use GG, then use them. If not, then don't. I fail to see the point of coming here and laying into these guys, even more when those people have no intention of using them.
Not trying to dis you or anything Talon, just don't want people to only rely on Paypal's methods. I know the CC method does work, but Paypal has too many loopholes for my taste. YMMV.

Actually my experience with Paypal is different. I shipped two items internationally----and the seller disputed stating he received neither. I had my customs form/tracking which showed the package arrived to France----however there is not tracking once it hits a country. Since I couldn't prove that it indeed landed at the guy's house, he won the dispute---despite my documentation. The Paypal representative told me that anytime I ship internationally to insure---else I could be burnt in this fashion.
Which is why now if I sell anything international I state:
Insurance for international is mandatory.
If you are bidding internationally and have less than 30 feedback---I reserve the right to cancel your bid.

To be honest, I don't recall. I'm fairly certain method does not matter however, as each time I've sold items internationally since and queried the USPS clerk----they've affirmed what Paypal instructed me. *Shrug*, the entire experience made me nauseated to the tune of 200ish dollars.

I was one of the early random draw winners and decided to hold it over towards a Dreadknight but I still participated in the first wave ordering a Stormraven, Razorback and Land Speeder Storm(possibly/probably the one in the picture of the large stack of SR's). I received all my stuff and have had great back and forth conversation so far so I will continue to do business with GG. I have a good amount saved for the GK release and I split my money 50/50 between my FLGS to support it and GG's 2nd GK wave and can't wait till they're here.

What it boils down to is that you need either online tracking (for Paypal to cover it) or insurance (so the postal service provider can cover it).
While I don't require insurance on all international purchases, I do ship with insurance anything that is worth more than I could comfortably wear out of my own pocket, just for peace of mind.
For smaller orders, it's not worth insisting on insurance for the minute number that will have a problem. Just puts potential buyers off... Ultimately, insurance is for the seller's protection, not the buyer's.

Just an FYI, when shipping internationally from the USA unless you ship registered or signature confirmation, the USPS can only track a package up until it hits the host country's customs service. It cannot track the package to the person's doorstep; which is why AoE lost his case. However, I have also heard that UPS and FedEX can provide this type of tracking service.

I can tell you have experience in this arena, as your phrase "insurance is for the seller's protection" is verbatim what Paypal (and USPS) instructed me.
Perhaps I'll skip insurance on items < 40----still makes me nervous after getting burnt last time. Anyways, sorry for the thread jack folks.

If any future individuals want to use paypal as their payment - please update your mailing address on your paypal end.
issue with this occured two times with two customers who had an address listed as either their old address or their main address, but they happened to be in another location.
We understand that we had listed an area for a mailing address on our order form. This is in part our mistake for doing so and assuming that this was always the case. (Live and learn). Having said that this only occurred twice. First individual immediately remembered after getting our shipping confirmation while the latter had not. We will fix this situation.
As stated by IH, AgeOfEgos, and the other parties in terms of specifics for paypal -- on our end we have to deliver to the CONFIRMED/VERIFIED location as per stated on the paypal address location. Otherwise we will always be at fault in terms of the possibility of paypal scam chargeback against us. (We as a business would like to have seller protection provided by paypal).
We remedied this once already and will be working with the second to see this fixed.
Those who made it and paid with the round 2 service will be having their items shipped out tommorow & friday when they all arrive.
GK Pre orders for the first wave will be invoiced all day throughout the day today.
Thanks All so far.
Battle Engines and Wrath are among us. Stay tuned!

This is interesting. I've seen such things posted elsewhere; however I have made extensive orders from Miniature Market recently, as well as through ebay, paying through paypal.
For some reason, my current address doesn't show up as verified (I need to get that fixed). However, none of the businesses I have bought from have had trouble shipping to the address I have listed, despite it not being verified.
I just want to be clear on what you're saying, if you are in fact saying you will refuse to ship an order to an unverified address. It's an understandable stance, but sometimes people don't realize their current address is not verified by Paypal until after placing an order. What do you do then?

Re-clarify.
Just have the address you want the items to listed within the paypal account. We will be re-reading the paypal seller's protection and asking the specifics in regards to that.
For the deals we actually sent & mailed to both unconfirmed/unverified addresses. We will be editing the message above and furthermore once we get a firm confirmation on what constitutes as a legitimate delivery.
As stated above paypal is a tricky business. Just have to read up on their rules as they are very black and white. They will go one way if you do not meet such requirements then another way if you do.
I think the least we want to have (atleast) just the desired destination address to match up with the paypal account. That in itself should eliminate the issue of 'i didn't get my item!' claim against us.
Hope that makes sense!

This happens quite a lot in mailorder for newer customers. Paypal, whether used directly or through ebay, is a huge boon to shipping out items, as the seller can automatically print the mailing lables on the computer, pay for the postage through paypal. Don't even have to go to the post office, just call and they come by to pick it all up.
The problem occurs when the customer signs up for paypal or ebay, then moves and doesn't update his address. If you don't update an address, your stuff goes to where you used to live. Much of the seller protection and insurance, and automatic tracking, that paypal gives is based on shipping to that address. It's so much easier for all involved having that tracking available online.
Verifying your address through paypal just makes it easier all around, and only takes a couple of minutes.

this happened to me twice in a row on bartertown recently despite actually reminding people via PM when the deal is agreed on to double check the address to make sure it's the current one. i had to refund the money of the first guy (minus the shipping and paypal fees) since he decided not to pay shipping a second time after it was returned by the post office. i had to later refund the payment of the second guy (ironically on the same item!!) minus the paypal fees and ask him to pay again with the correct address. GG, another thing to consider is that if people DO send you the wrong address but later correct it via PM and you have delivery confirmation to the second address, you have zero protection as the delivery confirmation is not to the address listed in the payment.

Nothing. RSO is not part of GalaxyGobbo.

Story with sum1 is that we had shipped the items BEFORE he paid. The day he paid, he got his package.. pretty much right after.

As you may know, GG has their grey knights stuff and is shipping them out. Once again, being local has it's advantages and I've got my order in my hot little hands. Really wish I'd gotten into Skaven before their troop deal came about but... oh, well. Maybe they'll do rare/special choices or WHFB war machines and I'll be able to get that WFC & Bell I need.
