My ex-wife and I had an amicable divorce. However, it was very touch and go there for a little while. Somehow, in the process of me moving out, 3 squads of Hormagaunts, 32 count each, fully painted, disappeared. I can't really blame it on her per se (no proof) but I would love ot have my gaunts back.

Pffft screw gfs n friends my husky puppy decided he would chew on 2 brand new assembled and 90% painted mk Iv marines today. One isn't so bad and just th back pack and shoulder pad have chips/teeth mark (battle damage hahha) but the other is missing completely, I hope he didn't eat it lol all though I'm sure it'll turn up somewhere in the yard. They Wer ontop of my table aswell so I have no idea how he manage to get them. Moral of the story, put everything away if not in use! Lesson learned.

I have a friend who is my primary hobby buddy who has multiple times 'accidentally' knocked models off a table, usually resulting in a lost arm or something...needless to say, I'm on to him

The worst fall I've ever had was self inflicted. I accidentally knocked my metal Ghazghkull model off a table edge, which hit the ground like a brick and shattered back into every piece it came in. Nothing too major, just some chipped paint I had to touch up and some annoyances trying to get it glued together again.

Worst thing my girl ever did with my models was beat the ever-loving crap out of me with my own Orks. It was Annihilation, 7 - 3 by the start of turn five.

My fiance did something horrible...

She painted two of my models!

Now they make the rest of my painting look like a 6 year old's work in comparison...

My girlfriend likes to pick up my dark eldar and mock me with tales of a dark eldar tea party which makes me crack up laughing but she would never do anything outright mean to my things during an argument.

That is effed up large.

I think the main enemy of my miniatures collection would be my cat, she once bit the head of my archon and sent my favorite kabalite crashing to the floor (hooray for bouncing plastic minis).

I have cold-sided my girlfriend when she wants to go to bed and I'm painting at my desk in the same room.

She'd be justified to destroy my stuff out of malice/jealousy.

I'm my own worst enemy.

In my very early teenage years when I decided to start an army other than SM's I picked IG. I saved up for months until I could afford to buy a fairly basic set of Cadian troops and heavy weapons. It went well and I spent many hours painting a very difficult camo scheme on everything I owned. Shortly after I got my first tank I had a school project that ended up being very messy. I was about to play my brand new, never before played army against my best friend at the time and I put it in a paper bag next to my workstation because I had no money to buy anything more formal. Being the mother she is, my mom insisted that I go outside and be social for the next few days and she'd clean up my project for me. You can tell where this is going, and needless to say when I came back a few days later I was very upset to discover she had used the paper bag my army was in as a trashcan and had already thrown it away.
I literally sat at my desk staring at what had once been my army I had saved so many months of allowance money and like the rest of you, spent hours of time painting and assembling. Being the age that I was, I had no chance of getting a job to replace what I had lost. I didn't throw a fit, I was just really sad for the loss and when my mom learned what she had done she felt terrible. She bought me a new army of equal value, 200 US dollars worth of Oldcrons (which had just come out) and I tried again to rebuild a new force. Except, Necrons just aren't the IG and I never really got into it. (they became my dark years of war gaming and I pursued different interests) Well, I ended up making a new friend years later who wasn't very well off, and I now was able to make my own money. Figuring that I was just about fed up with the Necrons, I taught him how to play, donated my paints, brushes, and entire army to him. I concluded that I'd probably never play Warhammer again. Soon after, digging through a basement closet I discovered the old paper bag filled with my IG army. My mom said that she had forgotten about it, but when I dug it out, it still had flakes of the school project I had worked on years earlier.

Now, I'm really glad I never got angry with my mother about this, because I stripped the IG down and remade them into the best work I have ever done. If my trilogy is ever published in the BL, you heard it from the author himself, I owe it all to my own mother.

My girlfriend has yet to see any 40k stuff.

Protip - always try to be as quick as you can, girls really appreciate that.

A cush piece of tail which I still make the rounds with knocked over a box of 105 points of warmachine commissioned pieces that were wrapped and ready to shipped within half an hour's time. Thankfully, the majority of the pieces were plastic but, I had to spend another 5 hours fixing 3 war casters.

Same here. Mine thought I had a gambling problem because of the dice cubes on my shelf, then insisted (and still does) that the plural of "dice" is "dices".

I'll start this off with what my girlfriend did to my Forgeworld Venerable Dreadnaught after a heated exchange involving me painting. I'd just about finished painting it up, had attatched the banner etc and working on a few last details and had left it to dry while eating dinner. Later that night we had a 'disagreement' about something and ended up dangerously close to my paint station, basically I started to put it away and as I had it in my hand she swiped it and it went flying to the floor. Result = Snapped Banner, 1 Part of the Wing broken, Power Claw arm and Claws broken off and Finally the Dread had been broken in 1/2 between the torso and legs. In the end we patched things up and I fixed him up as good as possible and learnt to stay clear of the paint station area during arguments.

Would like to hear your stories too guys.

The worst that I have seen was at Adepticon this year. A guy had let his friend borrow a fully painted warhound titan for the gladiator event. *Apparently a passerby* knocked the titan off the table, with no apology, and no offer to fix/compensate for the damage. Neither the guy who owned the titan or the guy who had borrowed it tried to force the issue.
Had this been my titan, or had I been the guy that borrowed it and used it in the game, the other guy would have
A: bought a new titan and paid to have it painted
B: donated his army to pay for the replacement
C: met me in the parking lot, gotten thrashed, and then both A and B

If you count pets as friends. My cat ate my plastic skaven mordheim band. To which my folks thought was SOOOO adorable since the cat ate the nasty ratmen I was painting...

And my dog chewed a unit of 20 longbeards....T-T

This so many times over. She believed that dice was the singular...

when ever i forget to clean up...if i'm not careful if my wife decides to clean the house what every out goes in the trash needless to say i have my iwn hobby room now that shes not allowed to clean in and i had to buy a whole new paint range and brush set

Never had anything done to mine in anger, a few accidental drops with easy to fix dammage.

However, I once dropped a box of minnis down the stairs. Contents: Storm Raven, 8 dreadnoughts. :S Cue girly scream. Fortunatly only damage was a broken flying base, a couple of broken banners on the dreads and a few broken blood talons. I cannot describe how relieved I was considering i had winced at every step it bounced off of on the way down.
