The Thor toaster is outstanding, impressive for your first try and OSL too oneManNoodles

Since everyone is getting there finished models up and my guy has just been staring at me for the last week here is the finished pics of him

I present ConnOrk MacLeod from the Highlander Movie which Queen did all the soundtrack for including the video that Para linked called "Princes of the Universe" and therefore my link to the theme Hope you enjoy.

I enjoyed trying to figure out how to do the GS trenchcoat, but making and gluing the GS fingers for the hand was the hardest bit..

There can only be one!

Super stuff from the both of you!

@KD: would you mind just taking one shot of each one? I do allow collage images like that, but there's still the 5 pic limit and that way of doing it is a bit unfair on everyone else (although still awesome).

Just curious... is there a way to get around the compression when uploading pictures? These looked a lot better on my screen before I posted them to Dakka; now they look grainy and awful.

You could put them on Imgur instead of Dakka. The image system is pretty grim.

Loving the pics so far guys. Really nice ideas coming out.

In general, if you upload the images to the gallery first then link them into the post rather than uploading directly to the post, I think they get less compressed. I could be wrong, though.

This is just a test to see if uploading a single photo so as not to exceed the total limit for a message by uploading 5 simultaneously improves it any.

Nope, still gak. If a moderator wants to delete this, that'd be just fine.

At the moment it is appearing grainy in the thread because of automatic resizing to fit the thread.

You need to manually resize your images prior to uploading them. They are actually huge. Its a 45mb image file that is in 4k Resolution (4608 x 3456 pixels).

EDIT ~ Resized it for you

Buttery butts.

@Winter: That's exactly how it should look! How do you manually resize an image (did you use Photoshop or some other program?), and what's the ideal size for an image in Dakka forum posts?
I normally am loathe to hijack a thread with a diversion, but I think others in this competition might appreciate it too if you could shed a little light on the subject.

Thanks!!!

@LordRahl - Personally, I would go for a little darker brown and then layer it up or highlight it with something like an ochre. But, just judge for yourself... here's what a traditional color wheel looks like Just look at the tones of blue across from the tones of orange, and in isolation, generally speaking you get good contrast that is pleasing to the eye.

No worries at all mate, I did indeed re-size the image using Photoshop. If you don't have that, you should however be able to download GIMP (which is free) and use that to edit the image.'

Ideal range varies, I like using anything around 640 x 480 if it is a 4:3 image. I normally don't go any higher than 1000 pixels on the largest dimension. Another note is that I typically constrain the ratios (so that if you adjust one dimension the other will follow, i.e. you adjust height and width automatically adjusts according to the original dimension).

Let's try this again.
Paradigm, if it's an easy thing to do, would you please replace my finished pics in the OP with these? If it's not easy, don't worry about it. Thanks!

Winter, one more question if I may: How did you get the image to fill the screen in your post? Did you make them something other than 640x480, or is that something that was done in the forum post after uploading? (Your image of my mini still looks better than my image of my mini ) Thanks again, this is hugely helpful.

I set my image to around 960 x 720 I think, or something like that. So yeah its a bit bigger than 640 x 480.

Finally got some photos of the finished Kats for my entry. Have had a bit of a nightmare getting the phtos. My camera is OOC so had to use the wife's camera. It's.....ok but not as sharp as I'd like to feth all depth of field and then the gakeating software I use to combine photos refused to save the file. I've resized the photo down but it's still showing up rather on the large size over in the gallery. Not the sharpest but I'm knackered at mo, soz folks :/
