I understand the fluff on Slaanesh, with all the ancient Eldar's pleasure and such, but what about the other gods? Were they created from the thoughts of the other races collectively or does it go deeper than that?

I believe time is their father and emotion their mother. None of them exploded into being like slaanesh but gradually formed and coalesced amid the tumult of emotions that the various races started feeling. So, I don't think the other three have a definite time when they came to be, after awhile they just sort of...were.

I think the Slaaneshi fluff is a case of having your cake and eating it, too.

First, the Chaos gods are a-temporal. So in what sense they existed at one point and not at another is . . . difficult to work out.

Second, it's not too plausible that the emotional experiences represented by Slaanesh did not exist in sufficient quantity/intensity of expression/whatevs before the decadence of the Eldar. The point, if you're going to take any of it literally, is that the Eldar--as still seen among the Dark Eldar--were really, really, really decadent.

The reverse--that Slaanesh is the product of the Eldar alone--is not very strong at all.

And, of course, there's nothing fluff-wise to connect the others to a particular race a la Slaanesh and the Eldar.

I could think they came into existance kinda the same way, Khorne from war and different violent acts. Tzeentch from devious plans and coups stuff like that' etc. Chaos is a creation of intelligent beings. Especially humans it would seem

Actually, the chaos gods all came before humans, it just happens that humans are both quite populace and emotional.

Considering Chaos gods exist in the warp and therefore also exist at all points in time they existed before they existed.

They were there, per se, but not totally sentient. They didn't have separate forms of their own. Think Pure 100% Unsaturated Chaos.

Quite unrelated. Chaos Undivided is the worship of Chaos as a whole, and thereby not dedicating oneself to one particular God.
Pure Chaos is Chaos without form; true Chaos.

Im glad you understand the Eldar rainy say theory and im pretty sure you can figure out what it is because nothing else makes sence about the gods. But my theory is the big bang made them

Nah, all Chaos wants is total domination of the Warp and Real Space. Malal is the God of Anarchy, so his goal would be to annihilate the other Gods, thus making Chaos back to it was before man, in a way. Malal was retconned a couple of years back ago, so he's treated much like one of the Lost Primarchs;dropped politely from all conversation and pushed to the back of everyone's minds. Fluff-wise, it's best you leave Malal out of anything like he doesn't exist.

Word of warning: Don't research on Malal, his fluff on most sites are notoriously unreliable and his concept is quite mind-boggling. The stuff up there in my post are the general fluff that remain constant and one derived theory*.

Ive heard of him, and it was in the same way you just said haha.

Well, it makes sense, decay, bloodshed, and change have been enormous parts of most civilizations (Humans are a great example) since, well, forever.

But no race before the Eldar devoted their entire civilization to orgies and drug use like they did before and during (and after in the case of DE) the Fall, so Slaanesh never really had enough emotions to grow from before then.

Didn't it say in lexicanum that during the middle ages, the gods began to gain more sentience as all the bloodshed on earth did something or another?

Plus the war between the C'tan and the Old ones.
The old ones created warp sensitive beings, changing the relatively peaceful warp into a sort of chaos.
