I am converting a Tzeentch themed fantasy army based on Egrimm van horstman. I had the modle years ago but I was thinking of converting a updated version. Any thoughts on what to use etc? I dont like the chaos metal dragon so I will be converting a plastic one high elf probably. I am having a bit of trouble finding a sutiable Van horstman moddle. Any ideas?

Chaos Knights. The Enscrolled weapons have that spiky feal of Egrimm's sword, and there are a few helmets in there that resemble his. Plus Egrimm looks like an old version of the Chaos Warrior, so the Chaos Knights should be a good "updated" version of his look.

Not really, I had a spare Carno head from my Kolec conversion, and two sets of Balrog wings doesn't cost the earth. What really hit me was getting the dratted thing painted, it's taken me about 18 months from concept to get done, and I'm still not too happy with my paint job

I do love it dearly though (at roughly 900pts or so

), and have build enough warriors to allow me to use it in a reasonable sized game

I thought GW discontinued their bitz order, hence why I assumed you bought two Balrogs for this conversion.

The model you did actually looks very much like an updated Egrimm, so it's not that big of a derailment.

Nice conversion! I was thinking of useing a carno as a demonic mount prehaps. I was thinking more slender for the dragon though, that would be fine for a khorne lord prehaps but I wanted to go with a more twisty avian looking dragon. The standing ridder is a good idea though.

I don't know what you are going to use as a base for the mini then, as the Carno is only broad at the hips, and isn't that much bigger than the plastic Dragon. A very nice dragon And i love the idea of giving the chaos dragon four wings but my brain is yelling at me that if it has four wings it should have four upper arms aswell possibly a more insectile look aswell? hmmmm ideas ideas wait dammit I wasn't going to do a chaos warhammer army I was going to do Dwarfs!

High elf dragon has been purchased and the converting will begin, it already comes with 2 heads and 2 tails so thats a start.
