So I felt like doing something a little different from Orks and decided to make a Lone Wolf for my girlfriend's Space Wolves. He'll be mostly for show but I also wanted him to be usable and so want to make sure his equipment is properly represented. He's made from bits I had lying around and some parts are due to be properly stripped before being glued in place (not to mention a lot of greenstuffing):

The problem is, I love the pose but I want to give him a storm shield and the pose really doesn't lend itself to having one, the best I could manage is to trim the Chaos Iconography off an old Chaos WHFB shield and try to fit it somewhere on him. This was the best I could come up with:

I'll add more detail to it but do you think that would be enough to represent a storm shield, or would I need something much more substantial?

I think more substatial. For the pose perhaps have a projectile striking it or shrapnel so it apears he is blocking something.

Well the pose was something I really wanted to keep, hence the quandary.

What i meant was that the pose would work with the stormshield if he is holding it there for a reason. A rain of shrapnel is definately a good excuse to raise your shield.

On the back of the power fist would be ideal, if you can find a sheild the right size. Modelled right, it'd look like a custom fist with built-in storm shield

But I don't hate your current waist mounting. The sheild needs some sort of extra detailing though.

Lovelly model so far though. Top banana.

You could always have the storm shield attached to the power pack, like he's not using it right then and needs his arm for more mobility...

Couldn't a marine mag-lock any piece of kit to any handy location on his armour when not in use?

Get a termie storm shield and have it slung over his back.

Thanks guys, I've tried affixing a few different shields to the fist and it just doesn't look right (to me at least), I'll try and see how it looks on his back (as well as trying a large shield). Failing all of that I'll leave it as is and just make sure any opponent is made aware of what it is, he probably won't get much tabletop use anyhow so not a massive issue I guess.

I agree. Were talking about a power fist holding a storm shield? Seems ridiculous. So what is the point of the power fist then? It seems more pragmatic to take one or the other into battle....its like putting on a power fist and wielding a power weapon in the same hand..no comprendo

I'm personally in favor of a sheild slung on his back, but, failing that, what about some "up-armored" power armor? Like, adding some gubbins and studs on some of the larger blank areas, like the legs and shoulder pads. while not technically a shield, looking like he has more armor on could justify the better save.

I'm firmly in the "termie shield slung over his back" camp. maybe have it on like a shoulder strap or something. Might be an opportunity to hang other wolfy stuff from the strap too, if you're into that kinda thing.

Put an Iron Halo or some bit like that on to represent the 3++ invuln save. This is what I will be doing for the gamesday 08 model with the thunderhammer.

The last Lone Wolf I played against had a storm shield and I couldn't kill him for love nor money! But we were playing kill points so I didn't care, won me the game!

But I vote strap it to the back pack.(But agree with the above about Power Fists being the daddy!)

Nice model too!

I would be sitting next to the strap and hang the shield over a shoulder/on his back but I would aslo like to ask if your considered having the powerfist on a removable pin and having an additional arm carrying the storm shield?
