Was just wondering what people’s favourite ever space marine model was? It doesn’t have to be the best looking or most detailed just the one that means the most to you and why.

Me personally I’m going back to the days of citadel combat cards, think the 40k one was called space war, there was a old marine carrying a shuriken catapult (times were hard) that I always liked. After that I would probably pick the metal commander from the last ever metal HQ box set, think he was carrying a storm bolter/ Power sword.

The galaxy is the Emperor's, and anyone or anything who challenges that claim is an enemy who must be destroyed

I'll have to second the Sternguard Veteran Sergeant with Powerfist, while there or many other space marines models that are much cooler in many ways, this one model is in my opinon the at the pinnacle of "Space Marine" hill. Then there is the "Space Knights" that are awesome, like Sanguinary Guard, Sword Brethren/Crusader Squads and Dark Angels.
Then the "Space Heroes" like Marneus, Vulcan, Chaplains and so on. But if I had to choose one model to be the ambassador of Marine-kind, it would be the Sternguard Veteran Sergeant with Powerfist. Sometimes, generic is king!(Not a huge fan of Ultramarines though....but they have their moments.)

Im repainting that model today, its his third incarnation. He has been a Dark Angel, a Silver Skull and now hes becoming my 3rd compnay captain for the Star Shades (Essentially purple and black)
The verteran srg from that box set with the hand held Auspex was also really cool.

Once I get my BA successor chapter's Assault Squads all painted up, Calgar's Honor Guard and the Tyrannic War Vets are going to be converted into that chapter's Sternguard. If they didn't have the Ultramarine omegas on them, they'd be my all time fav minis. As it is, definitely my fav SM minis.

Hmm... thinking back over all the years and all the Marines (and aside from Mr. Termy Chaplain above). Well I've always loved this mini:
