Open on Christmas Day?

The real sad thing is that there will be people thoughtfully tucking into a Big Mac and fries as xmas dinner as opposed to the option being forced on them.

If you ever ate what my relatives "cooked"(I'm convinced they just throw ingredients and household materials into a pot and call it a meal)...you'd prefer McDonald's too

Theaters are also open on Christmas. Firefighters, police, and military also work on Christmas.

Yeah, but of those examples only McDonald's and theaters don't have jobs that prevent people from potentially dying

Not only that but in store terms, it's just another Saturday here in the UK given that the bank holidays on Monday is the 'official' Xmas day off.

Not since the Union got it mandated as a day off back in '73.

There are other non essential business that operate on Christmas besides McD and theatres. That's right, I use both spellings of theatre.

Our branch was shut today, so I guess it's not a company-wide directive to open. Perhaps it's only the busier stores.

Chinese restaurants are also usually open. Some folks have a tradition of going out to eat Chinese instead of having a big home-cooked meal.

A lot of McDonalds' are open 24/7, so only being open during the day is actually limited hours.

Given that they wont' get a paid day off, a lot of hourly workers would rather have the option to work the day. When my brother worked fast food, the owner would only be open if people volunteered for the shifts.

I would attach rockets to the food, making it faster food.

thats not true we dont open christmas day, although boxing day were are open, albiet with limited opening hours, christmas day is the only day of the year that macys is closed

You should try looking up a few of the stores In Birmingham, very swish banners they had out proclaiming the xmas day opening too.

For several years my Mother insisted we "Go out for Christmas diner to avoid the hassles of cooking a big meal.".
Quite surprisingly,we found a plethora of very nice restaurants to be open.
