Well I finished up a squad I have been using. I run 12 kommandos including Snikrot, not sure if I will make 3 more in the future for a full squad. 4 of these models are from the metal set, the others are kit bashed from various sprues. These took me about 5 days of off and on painting, many intermissions of X-Box, dishes and entertaining my 2 year old. Classes starting back up again so it will be slow going again. Please comment, constructive criticism is appreciated, as I plan on painting up my ork army to this standard over the next year! Lots of orks so plenty more models to keep me busy.

There is some more pics in my gallery. I am not the best painter but am improving with some pointers from a couple of my friends.

Lovely skin tones, and overall, a very nice and clean job. Only problem is that their outfits are kind of boring.

Thanks folks! I have changed from my old way of doing ork skin to this one and do like it better. I chose to do them in khakis as they are kommandos! What suggestion would you have Fafnir to spice it up? I was thinking of mudding up their boots but decided not too as it may blend in with their pants. Previously I tried a camo scheme on them, but the overall green feel it gave kind of didn't vibe with me. Hmmm....maybe desert tone camo?

I would say make the boots dirty, but if you do make sure your bases are equally as dirty.

Nice skin tone

How many Space Marines does it take to screw in a lightbulb.

6, 1 techpriest and 5 tacticals that stand around trying to pose like badasses.

An Ork, Space Marine and Eldar are walking down the road. They see a Chaos portal that has a sign on it. It says: 'say what is true or be sucked in'. The Space Marine says: "I think I'm the bravest" and walks past safely, the Eldar says: "I think I'm the most agile" and walks past safely. The Ork says: "Me thinks..." and gets sucked into the portal.

I for one like the khaki pants. Gives me a good 'desert kommandos' vibe. You might wanna try camouflage patterns on them though, to make it more interesting? And more kommando-like

Otherwise, job's a good 'un

Definitely a great choice giving your guys khaki clothing. The clothing is the best part IMO. Very, very nice models!

I think they look great as is! Fantastic job. The simplicity is striking in a very good way. Camo patterns may make them look too busy...

When I see these guys, I picture them in desert terrain adobe and spackle buildings, with mesquite trees, cactus, and sage. Personally, instead of messing with adding camo, I'd try to add some plants and rocks to the bases.

Great job!
