Hi, I've got a subscription to White Dwarf magazine in the UK but haven't received the January 2011 issue #373 yet, anyone already got theirs?

Holidays maybe slowed production and/or mail? It comes out at GW on the 8th.

Ok, thanks fellas, here in the UK I usually receive it on the last Thursday of the preceding month, but we've had some very bad weather that may have delayed the post. I'll give it another day or two before I email GW, hopefully it will get here soon.

Usually, the January WD comes the week before Xmas. But this year, GW was so ancious to make no advertising for the January release, that they postponed the release to January. Official release 8th January IIRC.

Yeah, why would GW want to advertise fortchoming releases? Might accidentally build some good will with the customer base or something.

Mine said 5th january and made it then.

If you assume that the higher management wants to crush GW, then more things like no advertising, anti-marketing, anti-word-of-mouth marketing (rumour control), sueing fan websites and aftermarket, firing creative staff, closing stores and reducing sales staff, price hikes esp. for starter boxes and rules, no introductory games, drawing sales from FLEGs to their online store with "direct only" shineys, being content with declining sales and customer numbers etc make sense

It says "released January 8th", but subscribers usually (as mentioned above) get their issues well before the official release date.

They'll blame the weather.....

Had to ask, since mine is a localized ( ie German ) WD and thus they "guarantee" the dates printed there only regionally, not EU-wide.
Got also 3 dates: 1) subscriptions = 5th Jan. 2) GW-store/FLGS = 8th Jan. 3) kiosk = 10th Jan. ,but that may be entered additionally in translation.

Maybe they have the "wrong kind of snow" in UK

We have certainly had too much bloody snow so early in the winter.Can't stand the stuff! I'm hoping to pick up the new WD at my local newsagent tomorrow.Sadly my girlfriend is at work,or I would nip into Nottingham to GW where Dan Abnett is doing a book signing !

FLGS got theirs last night.

Got my copy this morning from the newsagent,and first look it's a great issue if you like Skaven,rather less interesting if you don't!

Sill no joy here so I'm declaring White Dwarf #373 officially late, and demand that any GW game designers, creative staff, artists, painters etc. (who haven't already been) are sacked immediately!

I am from Mansfield,near Nottingham,but I will be in Leeds in February for the Sisters two 30th birthday gigs at the Met University !
