Anywhere worth being

Just wanted to get an opinion from some fellow Dakkites (Dakkaites? Dakkians? Dakkans?) who have ordered some of these before. They run $25, and seem to be pretty big bags.

All in all... are they worth it?

The Warstore Bitz Bags are worth it for conversions and random parts. Their X-Mas Mondo Bags were definately worth it as testimonials said they added large amounts big apoc level things in there (Baneblade parts I think, and good chunks up to half a baneblade). Value wise may be questionable, but for the customizer, it definately works.

"Dakkanauts" is gaining popularity.

The bags are pretty darn cool. You get a TON of random bitz. Some aren't going to be useful to you, but should be good trade-bait to local friends.

I ordered two and got a lot of great bits in them. I even got a vostroyan plasma gunner which was a nice treat.

I've ordered the Mega (standard size) and the special Mondo sized bags in the past. Both have neted me a great amount of conversion bits. And like the above poster stated, the Mondo bag is ginormous. Mine did contain 90% of a Baneblade as well. Just had to pick up a the main turret. I think it is worth the price as you can always trade or sell to friends and people at your LGS.

How often does chaos material show up in these bags? I thought about placing an order, then got hit with shipping and taxes since I also live in NY and the price jumped up almost ten bucks. I don't wanna end up dropping a bunch of coin on something I may not use a lot of. One guy posted recently getting 3 combi-meltas for termies in a bag-wondering if he just got insanely lucky in his grab bag...

My post with the contents of my last grab bag is like 2 below what WarOne already posted, so that's what I got. Lots of chaos stuff, bottom half of a baneblade.

I love the grab bags because I like mystery bags. I'm always trying to get Bags of Crap off of Woot. You would get more mileage out of it if you were good at using the swap shop, because no matter what, you're going to get a lot of stuff you can't use. I tend to make a halfass effort at making trades and then abandon it.

I agree with Kanluwen, mystery bags are awsome. Who knows what you will get? If you got the dosh kicking around go for it. Great thing about Table Top War Gamming is you usually need someone to play againsted, so you have a built in trading system. =o]

The 2009 bag netted me a ton a few gaunt frames and some stuff I can't identify - a really big venom cannon, maybe. Nothing high end though. I think I got some genestealers the year before.

It's been a while since I purchased some of them, but they were a great value for the money when I did. of note, I did get not only plastic bits, I also got several random metal models/parts in the packages. Overall, I got several high elves and a smallish squad of metal black orcs.

Are the mondo bags for black friday specific to an army? Do you order a marine mondo bag or even "imperial"? Or do you get stuff from every line in a relatively random way?

edit: Never mind.. followed the link. It seemed like the vast majority of stuff posted here in this thread consisted of all imperial bags but the other thread had mixed xenos/human/marine contents.

I got a miniature one from a recent tournament in my swag bag. It was pretty sweet. Some marine power swords, a set of marine legs, a killa kan skorcha arm, a psilencer, some cool dark angel robed heads, dreadnought leg armor. Overall it was very cool stuff.

Of course there is the random stuff. Half a search light, one leg for someone riding a horse, a crap ton of purity scrolls, a big square thing that I have absolutely no idea what it goes to. But hey maybe I can use them for some conversions.

If you can use all the bitz they are defiantly worth it!

I think that they are a good value. Of course, I LOVE LOVE LOVE doing all kinds of conversions, and especially enjoy the challenge of making cool conversions with limited bits. Like, since I can't afford to buy the exact bits I want from The Warstore, making do with the bitz bags is actually more fun for me. I think that they put in more than enough stuff to make it worthwhile.

If you only have one, or even two, armies, they might not hold the same value for you. Since I have ~4, alot of the stuff is directly useful, and much is still good for objective markers, enemy casualties, etc.

I've even gotten them for the express purpose of dividing them into smaller bits lots/bags, and selling those for at least $25, and often more. And that was AFTER I'd taken out the stuff I really wanted.

So I recommend them highly.

Ordered my bag today and I expect to be a drooling, teary mess when it gets here. Only downside was that the shipping was quoted at $25US to Canada, but I emailed Neal and he said he'd see what he can do. Everything costs more up here.

Can't wait for it to come. I'm hoping for some horses to make some "rough riders" out of!

Anyone know how quickly Neal is usually able to send? I live in NY, just like the Warstore, so I'm wondering how long it should probably take to get my mondo bitz bag. I'm figuring...Monday? Tomorrow is probably too soon to hope for, but NY to NY should reasonably only take 2 days right? Anticipation is a

It's flatrate shipping with USPS so I would expect 5 business days. I'm in Canada so I'm looking 2 weeks to get it, cursed customs inspections!
