Well, do you?

I find it rather laughable to see some silly person threadnomancing around or something along those lines

Any one experience super funny reasons for locks?

It reminds me how never to act, as some such threads that start out okay turn to gak by the end.

Eh, Id say 50/50 I do. Usually Ill see a title, and just know why it got locked (why jesus is fake would be a good example of a "known" lock) mainly its when I see a title that I cant figure why it got locked (DAKKADAKKA is so awesome, thanks for making it)

I do it pretty often. Especially when I see reds8n did the locking. It's usually a lot of nerd rage leading up to a very witty closing remark.

Then again...that was probably the most epic banning ever of a Dakka member and the closure of a thread related to said Dakka member...

I often do. Not that I've ever been indirectly responsible for a thread closing.

I bet there are lies and slander somewhere in that statement...

Case in point:

Anybody remember the zombie-dong debate? Back then I was still a lurker, but I think I copy-pasted the text somewhere.

I remember that thread. Anyway. I've gotten only two threads locked because I don't do anything bad.
Anyway there have been great threads. And not only that but they have a failure line.

I might find it on my PC, but this can take some hours. It had that brilliant dialogue about how to raise your children and how 28mm high plastic models of zombie-exhibitionists could cause traumata.

Well that doesnt mean much though. I mostly dont do bad things yet Ive had scores of threads locked. I think its because Im a magnet to the scum and vile things that can lurk on DAKKA. I make a thread, then they swarm it and post all kinds of horrid things. That way when I come back a few hours later to read the progress.....its been locked

Frazzeled's legion of weiners gets me every time. I will read Frazzeled's post if he locked it. Or Reds8n. Or Manchu. They are funny in the ways they lock.

The only thread I have gotten locked involved pineapple bolters.

Ive got a heap of threads locked, some because they went to long, others for more communist reasons

such as my "What does it take to get perma banned" thread. A mod came along, looked left and right, pulled me behind a curtain and locked the thread, no questions answered :(

To tell the truth I missed it. I saw the thread at about page 2, went meh this will be a gakstorm soon enough and just left it.

Always thought the "BLAIMTHEVICTIM!BLAIMTHEVICTIM!BLAIMTHEVICTIM!" was an exaggeration.

Yeah, I often look at Locked threads, particularly if it's a witty moderator that does the locking, interesting looking thread, one bound to provide some controversy or one by someone I don't really like, just so I can get some satisfaction!

I think it often depends on the forums too though, for example, something posted (and locked) in 40K General or Tactics is just likely to be boring (lock-wise) and therefore not worth looking at IMHO.

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."
