The books themselves should be on sale in the Black Library section of the GW website as well as on shelves in-store. One of my fav series is the Horus Heresy (as it is for many others if the comments are any indication).
Nids and Cron's tend to be the bad guys and I'm not sure of how frequently they show up.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

For Tyranids, there is a book called "Heart of Rage" Its a Blood Angel book but they fight Nids.
For Necrons, there is a book called "Dark Creed" Its a Chaos Marine book but it includes the Crons.
You can get them in any half decent book shop, or go to the Black Library online store to get them. I hope this helps.

Dead Men Walking has Necrons as bad guys.
Fall of Damnos and Nightbringer also have them as bad guys.
Tyranids feature in... they're definatly in something i'm sure.

They are pretty good, I'm not a fan of blood angels but its a pretty good story. The chaos marine book is better than the blood angel one imo though.

I tried to read a 40k book (Rynn's world) and yeeesh. I got a little over half way through and had to stop. The first problem with the books is they all seem to be from the point of view of the spehss mahreens and how awesome and cool they think they are and how everyone else is weak and dumb (including ordinary citizens). One of the worst scenes in the book was when a few of the marines were walking through town while citizens gathered along the street to cheer them on. Instead of the marines being positive about it all they could be is dark and brooding, emos are more positive than these fruit cakes. Hell one of them even shoves some grandma to the ground because she was trying to give one of them a trinket. I think if the marines started gobbling each others knobs in that scene it would have made it less gay.
Oddly enough it had one of the same problems the movie had: people just walking for too damn long.

There are books with orks in it, but none from their point of view. Rynn's world is one of them. Helsreach is another.

Eisenhorn, Get Eisenhorn.
The author did a wonderous job of portraying the might and awesomness of the Inquisition. Its deep, compelling, the action scenes in the book are well-written and detailed enough to make you feel as if you are ducking behind cover side-by-side with Inquisitor Eisenhorn and his staff. He battles with traitor gaurdsmen, Slanesh Chaos Space Marines, Demons and Demonhosts, to list a few.

Fifteen Hours is a great book that you should try. It tells the story of an IG recruit and his adjustment to being in the guard. There are Orks in it too... even a gretchin sniper.

I've read two BL books, and while the plots were okay enough, the characters were all paper-thin, two-dimensional & whatnot (the books I read were Grey Knights & Space Wolf, the first books in their respective trilogies, and I didn't go on to the other books even though I was reading them in the omnibus edition). They were just (okay) plots with characters tacked on.
I have Horus Rising and I'm hoping that's better.

Here is the website with all current GW novels: http://www.blacklibrary.com/
A selection can be found on the GW website: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/landing.jsp?catId=cat440138a&rootCatGameStyle=books
Basically you have 40k novels and Horus Heresy books that are 30k (when the Emperor still walks on earth).
If you need advice on which books are good, have a search here or in the background subforum and read the 100+ threads on this topic.

Very hilarious, so hilarious it's like hilarious+1... wait no it's simply anti-sad. If someone is sad just show them the book and they will come down from the roof and enjoy the rest of the book.
