I dont see what GW legal would be upset about, everything there links to the GW website...

I think people need to take a deep breath, and actually check whats going on before they post. This business with Chapterhouse has everyone on a hair trigger of IP infringement accusations. Pretty soon we'll be accusing people of being witches...

Well when he mentioned codices and imperial armour I assumed they would be on the website already.

Probably not such a good idea. Republishing things they sell like codexes and imperial armour are going to get you in some trouble. Not sure about stuff they have allowed people to download but you might want to be careful.

It's a very good resource, I dont have to go hunting around the site for the ones I want. As long as he doesn't post actual scanned Codexes then there shouldnt be problems.

On a tangent, is the plural of Codex "Codices, Codexs, or Codexes"? I've seen people use all three.

It's codices.

Or codexes--it is (used as) an English word, so English rules apply.

This is a great resource! I'm glad the mods realized this way for legal PDFs and re-opened the thread!

I'd love to see links to all the various models with publicly available Forgeworld rules. Also, a list of links to the FAQs would be nice.

That's what I was thinking too. For a while after I got back into 40k I couldnt find the apoc datasheets because the GW website got overhauled.

Sorry to be a downer but did boardgamegeek not get a slapped wrist for something similar or was that because they had OOP rulebooks in as well?

Jus sayin' be careful feller, otherwise nice job.

Nice job! I admit I was expecting to see illegal scans in here, but I'm pleasantly surprised. It's nice having one location to look for all the extra bits and pieces of rules, especailly the FAQs (I always seem to have the outdated ones on my computer...)

Glad this got reopened, looks useful.

From an old thread there's this GW Japanese page that has several translated codexes for download

http://www.microsofttranslator.com/bv.aspx?from=&to=en&a=http%3A%2F%2Fjp.games-workshop.com%2Fresources%2Fwh40k%2Fspacemarines08.htm

You need to read Japanese of course but if you want a digital copy of the art and such they're useful.

Or if you read Japanese

EDIT-Oh yeah, instructions are in Japanese look for something like this next to a picture of the book:

Basically look for the -I- wearing a hat with the letters PDF after it. 全PDF

Does GW still try to get people to go through the click-through EULA before downloading? If so, it might make sense to keep that, so they can't say you're offering a way around that.

Not that providing a deep link that disregards a click-through EULA is exactly massive high-hackery.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

That's funny, the Japanese site looks like GW's old site:
http://web.archive.org/web/20070622025425/us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/default.htm

Did they not have their site redone, or is that a archive of the old Japanese site like this one?
