GF9 will soon release these 4 terrain sets (frankly I assumed the two ruins already to being released, well). They are not yet in the store with prices though, but will be this weekend.

Crystals (hello Necrons ):

8 prepainted Rocky Outcrops:

Gothic Ruins, small corner set (7" high plus 7½" long wall):

Gothic Ruins, medium corner set (two story, 9½" high):

"Combined with our other Gothic Ruin pieces and our forthcoming Hall of Heroes series, you can build an entire ruined city block or ancient castle for your forces to fight in."

I am also eagerly awaiting the Elven Tower for several months now!

Another announcement: In June 2011 you can buy this "Dungeon Master’s Keep – Ultimate DM Screen" for only 150$!

Those green crystals are mighty attractive, it's probably a good thing that I already have a few of those AT-43 crystals. Though it never hurts to plan ahead.

Just had a quick browse on their site and am considering ordering a few bits. Anyone have experience ordering from them to the UK? Are they any good?

I saw the crystals last year at battlefront's HQ, was wondering when they would finally come out. They look good in real life too. First person to make a command and conquer tiberium garden board wins

The crystals, rocks and small and medium ruins are released and cost 25$ each.

They announced the following for a February release:

A prepainted set of two ponds:
Ponds contain two pre-painted pond terrain pieces as well as a small island terrain piece. These pieces are cast in a flexible material to withstand the rigors of gaming. One pond is 11 inches at its longest point and 9 inches wide. The other pond is 10 inches long and 7½ inches wide. The small isle is 4 inches long and 3 inches wide. Like most terrain pieces in our Essentials Range, the pre-painted pieces are un-flocked but the set comes with a small bag of Green Static Grass from the GF9 Hobby Scenics Range. This allows you to flock the terrain to your taste or to use different color from the Hobby Scenics Range match your gaming surface.

Three sets of round ruins that can be combined:
Also available this month are three ruined building pieces in our new Hall of Heroes collection. The Hall of Heroes series of terrain sets features circular ruins that may have once been part of a tower or rotunda. These pieces look fantastic on their own, but together can be used to suggest a larger structure or multiple towers. These pieces are also perfect complements to our Gothic Ruins collection and together can create a war-ravaged cityscape or remains of a mighty fortress.

The first three releases are The Gallery of Valour, which is one large half-circle ruined wall section, The Broken Facade which contains one larger two story ruin and a small ruined section, and Crumbling Remnants, which contain two ruined medium-sized wall sections. Look for more Hall of Heroes terrain releases in the months to come.

All of these new terrain pieces can be found in better hobby and game stores worldwide. These pieces will also be available via the Gale Force Nine online store on the weekend of February 4th. Each of these new terrain sets retail for $25 USD.

Battlefront, the owner of Gale Force 9, gives a glimpse on the 2011 range of new releases:

Gale Force Nine

What a year 2010 was as we saw Battlefield In A Box and Dungeons & Dragons product come out across the year. 2011 will be more of the same with bells on. Our licensed products will continue to come out and we will be adding to our core range throughout the year.

D&D will have waves II and III out this year with character packs and new dungeon maps out for Players Handbook 2 & 3. Wave II starts to come out in May and will be followed by the epic DM’s screen that is every power hunger DM’s dream, so not only can they skulk behind it menacingly but they also get to shoot the bad dice roles out of the tower.

Wizkidz is now back up and running a full speed and we have Green Lantern and Captain America releases planned to coincide with their new sets and the films out later in the year.

Battlefield In A Box

This is the range we have given a great deal of time to expanding and this year has started with bang with new Gothic and Essentials releases.

New Fantasy codes are just round the corner and as the year roles out we have tribal and sandy releases to follow. As you will see closer to the release I have had some fun converting the “Tree of Woe” to theme with my army and I know some of the other guys are doing the same so that will really put our modelling skills under the microscope.

The core range at GF9 has evolved over the year and now encompasses basing, tools, movement trays, gaming and magnetic bases. This range will get deeper this year as we expand to include more variety and choice as well as conversion and customisation packs for all scales and timeframes.

That pretty much fills out our 2011 and with the best will in the world talking about 2012 will only make it not come true.

http://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=53&art_id=2462

I am excited about the Elven terrain (although GF9 will face tough competition by Escenerama) "just round the corner" and curious about the tribal (Orcs?) and sandy (Tomb Kings?) releases following them.

Just picked up a set of those green crystals for store terrain. Don't remember seeing this post of them here before, but once I saw the box in a different game store we were at for a tournament I knew I had to get them. Now I just need to decide what kind of basing to put them onto.

GF9 put up Mystery terrain markers (for marking your Warhammer Fantasy forest and river) and magnetic monster bases in 50x100 and 60x100 on their webstore:
Solve the Mystery of your fantastic terrain with GF9's new markers!

GF9 is pleased to present Mysterious Terrain Markers. Constant battle and powerful sorcery warp the very nature of the land, twisting forests and polluting waters with dread energies. Now the battlefield itself can take its toll from the combatants while they fight! With Gale Force Nine’s Mysterious Terrain Markers you can designate which of your woods and water terrain may be under effect of unnatural powers. There are two sets, one for Woods and one for Waters. Each set contains twelve (12) full color large markers to clearly identify the mysterious aspect your terrain has taken on. These oversized markers are done in the unparalleled Gale Force Nine style with bold full-color graphics. Each marker is laser cut from durable clear acrylic plastic and backed with felt to protect your gaming surface and miniatures.

Monster Magnetic Bases available at GF9.com

GF9 has added three single monster-sized magnetic bases to our online store. These huge bases are ideal for mounting the marauding monsters or menacing machines that tabletop commanders field in battle. There are three different sizes available; 50mm x 100mm, perfect for chariots and warmachines, 60mm x 100mm, ideal shambling abominations and other beasts, and 100mm x 150mm, for the largest of monsters! Each base is sold individually and they are available exclusively through the GF9 Webstore!

Cool stuff. A command and conquer board would be cool. I see in the future a cool and maybe easy board. Lots of crystal forests. Large rock mesas and some large tonka dump truck converted into harvesters....Maybe a processing facility. Could be cool. Big items for blocking terrain and patches of small crystals for difficult terrain.

It wouldn't surprise me to find that Gale Force 9 got a C&D letter about the 'necron' crystals, and they quietly removed them from the website.

For me, not only is most of GF9's stuff affordable, it's also really well done.

What would GW's claim be -- they own the colour green?

Aren't these Battlefields in a Box actually splash releases and they don't tell you when they pull them? Because a lot of the older boxes are hard to find, listed as out of stock at many places and aren't on their site.

I got in the Elven towers last week, and it's very nice stuff. The entire line of GF9 battlefield in a box stuff is great.

They aren't really splash releases, but do get made so many thousand at a time, in large runs, so they can go out of print, and come back later when they do another run.

We're going to do several tables featuring their scenery in our new store later this summer. We have quite a bit of stuff out now, but I'm going to be quite happy to open up a couple dozen boxes more of it. It's really great stuff.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

They are. Anyway, here some previews of upcoming GF9 terrain http://www.gf9.com/ :

First up is a new pair of terrain features, Escarpments. These are small rises that drop off to a sheer rock face. These hills can be used with any scale of wargame; serving as towering cliff faces for 15mm based games or rocky cover for 28mm games. The Escarpments terrain will be available in two pre-painted styles, gray granite rocky style or a windblown desert style. Along with two terrain features, each set will also include two bags of GF9 Hobby Scenics basing material; an appropriate colored static grass and a contrasting colored flock.

We’re very excited to present our Tribal Huts. These savage structures are perfect for a small encampment of raiders or can house an entire village of marauding monsters! Hides, furs and skins have been stitched together over a frame of giant rib bones to create these bestial buildings. Our Tribal Hut terrain models are fully-painted and detailed on both the exterior and interior. There are three varieties of huts to build your village; two normal-sized buildings and a larger hut, perfect for a tribal chieftain or central longhall. Look for Battlefield in a Box Tribal Huts on store shelves soon!

When the desert sands erupt with conflict you can accessorize your tabletop with Gale Force Nine’s Battlefield in a Box line of terrain. Today we’d like to preview two essential terrain pieces, Desert Palms and the Desert Oasis. A stand of palm trees shade this sparking pool of water, providing a welcome respite from the oppressive desert heat. The Desert Oasis is cast from the same flexible resin that we use to make our river sections and ponds. This set also includes a few palm trees and some GF9 Hobby Scenics basing material to accent the terrain.

The desert is not a lifeless place, stately Desert Palms dot the windswept dunes. Two palm bases mark the area on your battlefield of a copse of palm trees, and pre-made tree stands represent those palms. These tree stands are cast in a durable resin while the forest bases are cast in a flexible resin to withstand the rigors of gaming. The Desert Palms set also comes with some GF9 Hobby Scenics basing material to accent the tree stands. Both of these terrain sets will be on store shelves soon!

The Battlefield in a Box Crystals set proved to be one of most popular and talked-about terrain accessory sets to date. Many of you asked for crystals in different colors and your calls have not gone unheeded. With each production run of Crystals, we’ll be rotating the colors so as to create a full spectrum of colored crystals to adorn your tabletop. Currently ice blue Crystals are making their way to store shelves; after that the next wave of Crystals will be blood red. Don’t worry, if you missed out on mysterious green Crystals, they’ll return soon! Blue Crystals will be available through the GF9 Online Store beginning next week!

Two new and improved terrain favorites will appear on store shelves soon; Extra Large Hills. The two halves of our former two-part hill set have joined together to form an extra large terrain feature. This large difficult terrain piece will be released in two colors, gray granite rocky color or a desert sandstone coloring. Each set will also include two bags of GF9 Hobby Scenics basing material; an appropriate colored static grass and a contrasting colored flock.

Finally, here is a teasing look at our next series of terrain pieces the Forgotten City fantasy desert terrain. Each piece in this line will be a grand ruin, ancient statue or crumbling monument that has been consumed by the unyielding desert sands. We’re excited about the beauty and versatility of the pieces in this line and we’ll be show more photos in the coming months. Who knows what ancient secrets the Forgotten City holds?

GF9 will also release several DUNGEONS & DRAGONS Game Mats in vinyl:
Sanctuary of Fate, Red Hall of Vor Rukoth, Merchant’s Bazaar, Abandoned Hamlet, Evermelt and Frozen Wilderness (all 20x30" with 1" grid) plus a map of the 4th edition Forgotten Realms.
