Has anyone else read the story of DNF's development? At one point the company developing it was literally doing nothing. They made a map for the trailer and than just kept editing the same maps over and over.

Some of the early trailers were just demo rooms - they were setpieces made specially for the trailer and had no actual bearing on gameplay.

3D Realms was working on this game, but every time George Broussard saw something cool in another game, he'd make them incorporate it. As a result the game saw tons of engine and mechanics changes, and that's basically why it didn't come out until now.

George B. never understood that you can never catch that carrot.

George B. actually posted on the 3D Realms forums a lot of the time looking for "neat ideas" that might make it into the game. Every. Other. Month.

His controller is increadibly awesome.

I had this game pre-ordered (and fully paid for) WAAAY back in the beginning of the development cycle. I've long since lost the receipt and been wiped from the system. But now I don't really care. I'll pay for it again. Duke is one of my heroes. Hail to the King indeed Duke.

That looked pretty good, and I wasnt expecting that TBH. Im sure Ill be checking that out

I'm not sure how well this will translate to a modern game.

I will probably pick it up when it hits the bargain bin.

My Guess? Exactly like Splatterhouse: It's just a standard game that really doesn't do much for the genre, but the personallity behind it is the reason why people love it.

As AWESOME as Duke is.

I'm really going to miss The Zero Punctuation guy making a joke about the game.

Those jokes woke go anywhere. I think he might actually start his actual reveiw of the game the same way
