Hey all,

I recently came into possession of some older guardsmen that I got from my cousin. While loyalists are great and all, I wanted to do something a little out of the ordinary, and the first army I thought of was the Blood Pact. I wanted to know how hard it would be to do some conversions to the models (ie. sculpting masks, changing paint, filing symbols etc etc) to make the army more chaotic, but without going overboard on the conversions.

Just my 2 cents

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

It shouldn't be too hard. Blood Pack are essentially Chaos Imperial Guard. The masks would probably be the hardest parts to do (and take the longest).

You might also want to mix up the weapons as they are often shown to have a mix of las-loc (single shot lasguns), lasguns, autoguns, etc, as well as various CC weapons such as swords, flails, etc.

Additionally you may want to add on chaos symbols, scars (especially on the hands and face), etc.

I found this tutorial on scuplting GS gas masks:

Here's a Dakka thread on stripping metal model:

I couldn't find any specific information on filing symbols (off). Just use a good file, and work slowly would be my basis advice.

Posting some pictures of the models will help other forum members to give more specific suggestions.

And here's a Dakka thread with more sources of gas masks, thought most of them involve replacing the whole head:

I wouldn't file the symbols off There's plenty of bits in the books that say the imperial symbols bagdes and such have been desecrated so maybe scratch a chaos symbol accross them? or just paint over the original symbols. stripping is easy enough I think ASDA us are selling some flash oven cleaner there's another thread that has a title like "UK Gamers Model stripping only £2.00" or something just a little bit further down and is you search there are plenty of topics on model stripping.

For true Blood Pact they would all need metal masks GSed on. Makes painting the faces much easier

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Not bad - how much did the masks cost?
I'm doing word bearers so cultists are very much on my "to do" list.
