I challenge you guys of DakkaDakka to come up with the most competitive army list possible, that will make even the most hardened veterans cry.
Rules: List must be 1850 points or less, come from a current codex, and use the standard Force Organization Chart. Limit of one army list entry per person. If you post more than one army list, please edit your FIRST POST in this thread with your entry, and please designate that it is your entry. Thank you
Have at it folks!
The end date for this is January 31st, at which point I will organize all the lists and let people vote for their favorite list.

Immolater heavy flamers are twin-linked so can re-roll wounds. And it can go 12" and fire the twin-linked heavy flamer due to accurracy not being needed to fire the weapon acuratly.

A while back, Aldarionn posted a SW Razorspam ( LC, TWPG) list, something like 14 of them, minimal GH squads, TWC too. It was sick. I'll see if I can find it again.
Jevrian and 85thcommander, maybe you guys should take your hooking up conversation to PM? Seems to be hijacking the thread. I suggest this nicely.

It's contains "only" 7 'backs, but IMO the lords are well worth it. Saves you having to shoot your whole army at 5 marines in cover to kill them, when your lords can just go and munch them up. Plus they're annoying as hell to try and shoot out of the wolf screen.
If you feel like it you can drop the majesty lord and the wolves for 315pts, and pick up 2 more 'backs:
3 Wolf Guard, 3x Combi melta 69
Lasplas 75
5 Grey Hunters, flamer 75

Leaves 15pts, spend it wherever.

Wolf priest + 15 blood claws
Logan + 4-7 WG mix or all termies.
Rune priest + 9 WG
LR to neutralize IG mech lists.
WG with combi-weapons and claws in termi armor or power armor.
All three units should dominate in HTH.
The rune priest messes up psychers.
The options with WG can be used to optimize them for any opponent.
Only forseen problem is DE list with a boat-load of lance fire. If you sweat that find space for one long-fang and logan that should light up any two DE raiders or ravagers.
There are better lists but this is not just a cookie cutter list.

That most recent space wolf list will suffer from lack of taking advantage of the SW codex ulta-cheese possibilities. Wolf Guard die just as readily as regular marines but cost much more. Long fangs, which are better AND cheaper than their smurf equivalents. I have seen them at the bunker and they just SUCK when they use the hopped up TWC too.

HS: 5 long fangs 4 missiles: 115
It really is disgusting when people use thunderwolf cav like this. I had it done to me once and got almost tabled by a very lousy player. You don't have to think much just charge them right up the middle shrugging off everything thrown at them. The only way this list is weak is that you have to keep the grey hunters safe to score any points, but who cares if you chop up everything else on the table and win with a VP from one surviving grey hunter.
EDIT: It just occurred to me that 5 stormshields on the TWC are unnecessary to play the wound allocation game, and they could do just as well with 3 per squad, saving 120 points to either get more grey hunters, upgrade the WGBL to Wolf Lords, or get another rune priest

But yeah, for any list with halfway decent AT stopping 5 rhinos wont be a problem.
People say that but have you actually tried. Obviously going 2nd hurts for that type of list but Iwill be getting cover saves in that first turn (hence the 2 Libbies). Remember it takes on average 4.5 S10 Ap1 HITS to pop a cover save Rhino. Granted that maths is based on a 4+ rather than the 5+ shield would give me. I know SW missile launcher/Las- plas spam would cause this list problems if it went 2nd, but I'd probably table you everyy time if I went first. I didn't have the SW or BA codex to hand so had to go off memory so went with BA as I remember the points I needed to know for this list. One of your own Razorback + LF spam lists would have been my absolute ideal choice.
^^ Make them 5 man assault squads, no PF or melta guns/infernus pistol. Drop down to one priest at most, and you should have points for another pred and baal preds.
Then the list is entirely pointless. The whole point of the list is a massed FC assault in turn 2. Cutting back the assault squads would prevent this. The melta is to deal with cans on the turn you charge. The suppliament the preds and HK missiles.

I'm afraid it just doesnt work that way. Most armies have psychic defence, so lets say they stop 1 shield, then thy wll just oblitterate the 2 rhinos that aren't shielded.
Anyway even if you get first the space wolf player does get the advantage of seeing how you deploy and reacting. Only a fool would deploy straight accross that thing. A good player would probably split his force between each corner forcing you to split your forces, to acheive. Or even just reserve, leaving the long fang missiles on the table. If you charge you get counter harged hard by whatever rolls on durring the wolf players next turn. If you dont charge your taking 15 missiles to the face. Those arent good odds. 40k is a 3 dimensional game, 2 dimensional tactics will not win against good players.

Against Eldar yes against anything else they're limited to 24" pyschic defence and again going 2nd I'll know where their psychic defence is. Unless they pod in which won't really help much against this list.
If they split I still have 5 rhinos so can split or centrate on the larger part and destroy that. Likewise the all reserve tactic doesn't really help unless they've got fast stuff that can DS or out flank. In your example I'd just send in 2 squads against the 18 Long fangs and wipe them. When they got counter charged I'd still have 30 angry marines to counter charge back. With a 14" charge radius from each rhino It would be easy to ensure anything that charged my 20 marines could be counter charged whilst remaining out of easy charge range.
Yes 40k is a 3 dimensional game but armies that win tournaments tend to do 1 thing very well, or all pull in the same direction. That doesn't necessarily mean spamming and I know I have done. But Rhino rush is the most consistent way of using BAs.
