Hey Guys,

Here is a tutorial on how I go about painting skin. I have used a Dwarf as a model because of the amount of skin available. I use this exact colour scheme to do my space marine faces. I hope it helps someone out there.

Here is a quick pic of the results,

and here is a HD video on how I go about doing it....

Comments are always welcomed.

Thanks!

This is a big help. I am just getting into the whole skin painting myself, and I have discovered that I am horrible at it. This tutorial is a big help though. (I just have to adapt it to Dark Eldar pale skin.)

Hi just watched your tutorial and it was a great help. My only criticism is that the music was a bit loud making what you were saying hard to make out at times but maybe that's just my old ears.

Everywhere I'm not supposed to be.

I watched this and then applied it to a Commisar I'm working on, and I thoroughly enjoy the results. I only made one teeny tiny little variation, but other than that I think you've come across a very simple and very effective way of painting flesh!

If you need me, I'll be busy wiping the layers of dust off my dice.

Hard to see much in that video (except when you did the wash), would get more from a series of still images with better lighting.

thats simillar to what I was doing with my models.

if you want different effects play with mixing red or blue into the base instead of brown for sicker or more 'alien' results too.

gonna play with the basecoat colors for my nids but this is extremely helpful. so many fleshy recesses and of course genestealer faces are semi-human.

thanks a ton.
