If this model wasn't meant to be a Space Wolf then I don't know what is. With just a little green stuff and some paint, he's looking about the way I always pictured. Now that my Space Wolves are somewhat underway I think that they might be my best painted army so far. This one makes red snow. My Lukas the Trickster will make yellow snow.

Reminds me of Prospero Burns. The wolves refer to dying as 'Sleeping on the red snow'.

Very well done! The gore in particular looks fantastic, as well as the base.

Scariest terminator ever, period. The pose is perfect, and the paint job is just as good. I particularly like the yellow head and the battle damage.

I've seen many people paint red on their swords, but they almost always just look like a red painted sword. Your guy's claws actualy look bloody, and that's awesome. What did you use for the effect?

I use a mixture of Tamiya Color's Clear Red and Smoke.

However, if you are, I'd keep the (albiet awesome) blood and gore effects to a minimum, only on signature models like this guy, you risk it looking too OTT otherwise.

That blood is incredible. What did you do to get the dripping effect?

For the dripping effect, I just used the brush to apply enough that it would form a bridge between the claws, and then gently took it away until it was thin enough to be believable.

As for an army, I intend to do one, but it may take a little while. Blood is only going to be used on models that look brutal enough. I don't want my army to look like an episode of "Spartacus".

OT; I've heard of people using strands of hair to imitate strands of dripping blood... I think they glue it to wherever they want the effect to be, then coat it with many many layers of their chosen 'blood' so that it forms a droplet at the end, forming a 'mid-drip'-drip, if that makes any sense at all You could try it out...

I did that on my Eldar Avatar. It worked pretty well, but it's hard to get the hair to hang the way you want it to, so a lot of the time you end up with a drip of blood flying off at an odd angle.

Gotta say that I love both the Wolf termie and the Avatar. Pretty realistic snow too, but I wonder how much wear and tear that base can survive.

I did my whole Dwarf WHFB army with the same snow techniques, and it's survived pretty well so far. The difference is that the Dwarfs are transported on unit movement trays inside of a box, whereas these guys will be individual models in my regular foam carrying case. I guess we'll see. I gotta gets me a Thunderwolf now.
