Ok so I realized that many of us change our avatars. Some do it often, some almost never, and then chowederhead seems to do it about every 5 mins.

Anywho, I wanted to start this thread to have my fellow DAKKanuts?(when did this start btw?) share some of the Avatars they have graced us with.Try and post your very first when you started DAKKA. So Ill start with some of mine.

I can't remember the avatar I had before this, I've used it for years now, and on other forums. Unchanged other than the addition of a santa hat for xmas.

I have only ever used the one <<<

I had to steal this version from the escapist infact since I had long since lost the original img file.

So if you ever wondered why my pic is a little on the small side... giggity... now you know

This has been my avatar since I first posted here at Dakka. I don't like to change my avatar, as I tend to recognize someone as their avatar. The username is secondary. I like to think that at least a few people think the same way.

In case you're wondering, it's the cover of the Warhammer 40k Novel 'Dark Disciple'. I chose it because the Word Bearers are easily my favorite army (in fact, the only army that I still have left).

Nope, it's definitely a Word Bearer holding the decapitated head of an Eldar.

I need to find a higher-res version of it, but I've been too lazy to do so.

And then a Krieg Quartermaster. This avatar I only use on Dakka.


With the exception of the Krieg Quartermaster avatar that I only use here, I tend to change my avatar uniformly for all the sites that I use.

Sorry, imageshack is slowed. Fixed it.

Captain Spaulding has been my avatar for so long I don't even remember what I used before...I think it was a still from the old Dawn of the Dead movie poster.

My current one is the one I use on those boards that let me choose my own (xmas version has an added MSpaint santa hat).

I'm not big on changing stuff just for the sake of it.
Pick something and stick by it.

After it was them holding up a Vindicator, but not sure where that picture is now anyway.

Then it changed to this.


After a while and because of some thread I changed it to this.


Then it changed for the breast cancer month to this.


Then for the prostate cancer one/beard appreciation month.


Then it changed to the current, which got a santa hat about a week later. There was also a christmas version of the Wall-E one but not sure where that is either.

My original Dakka avatar was a Plague Priest converted from Throt the Unclean sitting on the dashboard of my car. I can't find that photo at the moment so I'll just go through the rest.

The Rat Ogre
This is easily the avatar I have used for the longest, and have switched back to it a couple of times. It is also my only avatar to have worn christmassy headgear.


The Eye
This is a slice of button squash from a fennel and white wine sauce I prepared for a chicken dish. See below for full sized picture also.



I have a Dakka Lame-To-Fame in that I once posted the following image... ...inspiring others to create a facepalm Orkmoticon that didn't completely suck.

My current Avatar is the 'Yo Gabba Gabba' logo with a couple of simple changes. At some point about ten months ago my work hours saw me sitting in my living room watching a lot of early morning childrens television shows (it was in the background but it still burned my mind) and I wanted others to feel my pain.

I simply haven't gotten around to changing it yet.
