He costs a whomping 240 points + 200 points for the Dias

Even then you probably want to take Night Shields + Flickerfield for an additional 20 points for the Dias <- (can anyone confirm you can upgrade the Dias like a raider?)

The good thing is this "super" Ravager does not take up a Heavy Support Slot.

Cons: It costs 460 points. lol

Who's done it? Also how has anyone modeled the Dias? Buy a Ravager and widen it somehow? Can anyone confirm there will definitely NOT be a model released for the Dias nor the Vect? (Just use an Archon)

It cant be upgraded like a raider! It isnt worth the points.

240 base + 200 dias + 9 man retinue that has to ride with him! Atleast 600 pts on average that can get popped like any other vehicle.

you cant upgrade it, so sadly it sucks a lot. Way to much for what it is. It doesnt even have areal assault so it cant move 12 and fire everything.

You can take vect without the Dias, which is the way to go. If only he had combat drugs...(actually i guess 3 of them wouldnt do him much good anyway)

actually does anyone think he might be too killy for his own good?
He is going to hit with 5/6 of his attacks, wound with a probably 4(more if fighting eldar) but none are instant kill. His shootting attack is nice to heal wounds as is the extra wound but its pretty obvious he is going to get instant killed or not touched anyway.

I mean compared to a huskblade archon with soul trap, shadow field, and combat drugs he does look kinda expensive for arguably no better ability to kill IC or MC. And once charged the archon is better.

What? I just read another forum that you can. Has this been confirmed in a FAQ or something? It would be stupid if it cannot be upgraded. If a simple raider can get flickershield why the hell would the flagship NOT get it?

Can the Dias move at cruising speed and fire like the Ravager can?

That would make it not quite so terrible. I feel like I want to write a letter to Phil Kelly to let the Dias get upgrades and be able to fire like a Ravager.

no if it moves 6-12'' it can only fire one weapon. I think for its point cost already listed it would be better to just errata it this way "Comes with ALL upgrades" I dont see any reason vect's pimp mobile would be anything less than tricked out to hell. All the upgrades comes out to about 60 points, but you cant use them all in any game so there might be some discount. The FF and NS would help a lot, the rest of the upgrades are kinda situational but would just be good fun.

Back with the 3rd edition book a friend who played Dark Eldar used to say AssDroolBad Vect was one of the worst special character in the game. That Dias was just plain bad.

5th edition the Dias isn't much better unless you are playing at Ardboys points and want to get more Dark Lance shots. Inability to move 12 and fire all 3 dark lances is a huge problem when you are required to load up the Dias with Vect and 9 infantry. You want to load up the dias with assault infantry because Vect is a bad ass in combat but if you can't move 12 and fire all 3 dark lances you losing the main advantage of taking the dias. Might as well take Vect + unit in a much cheaper Raider.

wait you mean like the monolith!
multimeltas still could. There is also something called a lascannon that most imperial armies have access too which can pen AV13 at any distance. Imperial armies do not NEED melta to take on armor, it just makes it easier. Vect is a special character and him being able to survive common meta antitank is in no means broken.

BT blessed hulls are basically impossible for DE to take out at range. Where is the fairness there?

Phil Kelly and Jes really missed it on this one. No one will ever run a Dias now.

Ya, as others said it is not worth the points without upgrades or aerial assault. Put him in a raider and use the points elsewhere.

my flgs and gaming group house ruled to allow vect to upgrade (same cost as ravager) and have ariel assault. theroy being the rest of the army is based on fast hard hitting attack, and yet vect the CC monster is limited to slow boating around behind. dont make sense. in tourneys without this houserule i just run vect solo either on a venom or raider with his incubi. perhaps a mass petetion to GW will change the FAQ or at least provide some reasoning behind the current RAW gak?

Every ones being a bit unfair on the Dias of Destruction ; sure it shouldn't be used in a small game but look at it this way...

You have a the most epic shooting platform. So what it can't move with trueborn that can be 5 dark lance shots,4 blasters. As far as i care Veck can get out and joins an assault unit leaving it to keep shooing on its own.

Still not for less 2000pts ... as it'd need screening (jet bikes would be good as they can close up in the assault phase)

(just noticed that dark lance are heavy fool me for not checking sooner)

I have enjoyed mixed success with the Dais.

I will run Vect with a 9 man Bloodbride squad, setup the Dias as far forward as I can in my deployment, disembark, fleet, and charge if I get the distance. Everyone I play against knows what the Dias can do from turn two on, and they usually try their best to get rid of it, but its like it has anti penetrate magic on all my opponents weapons..... they take alot of shots to pen it and even then, its usually a 1 or 2.

The Dias is not the greatest for a turn 1 shooter, but its got the ability to be on side armor from turn 2 on, or else things turn to face it and give side armor to my ravagers sitting back on my side, while Vect and his girls are happily curb stomping Space Wolves and Imperial guard......

We need a mass petition to Philly Kelly giving the Dias AT LEAST Ariel Assault and hopefully fickerfields.

It's 200 points + requires it to be full up for Christ's sake.

I can see it NOT being allowed some of the upgrades like the ram for example but we REALLY at least need Ariel Assault and the Flickerfields.
